Need help with the Volt HID Digital+ kit

So just bought these for the 9006 low beams. And pretty much instruction wise it has a diagram of a relay and fuse and connect directly to the battery which is pretty much not true for this kit I believe. In the kit itself has 2 ballast, 2 hid lights, and a pair of gloves. Pretty much it seems like it was idiot proof since all the connections seems straight forward. So in the steps for install I plugged the 2 smaller connections of the ballast to the two small connections on the hid light then connected one of the power looking connections to the ballast ans the other power connection to the original car connection. so once i installed the driver side I wanted to check if they worked and to my disappointment it didn't. My question is did I connect it properly since it doesnt seem to be any other way or did i have to install both sides in order for the hids to work, which in my mind doesn't make sense either. Or what would suck is that I got a defective product which also doesn't make sense since I tried every possible combination with both ballast and light. Only thing I haven't tried was installing both of them in but its quite a pain to do so just wanted some feedback before I go ahead and try to install both before returning these.

I have the same kit and I kinda had the same problem. Turns out I didn't plug the wires in right. There are 4 plugs coming from the bulb right?
