Xenon hid light bulbs

I was planning to change my stock light bulbs to hid light(white)
my question is do i need to install hid converter too?
if so, what is hid converter and why do i need that for. i thought you just need to change the bulbs and that it.
my car is honda civic 2007 coupe ex

You mean the ballasts? If so, yes, you will need ballasts for the HID bulb to work. HID bulb need much higher voltage than 12v to run, and it need even higher voltage to start the bulb, and that's what the ballasts for.

yeah i think? what if i dont have ballast? will the hid bulbs will work?

no they will not. and trying to run them this way will fry them.

ok what happen is i bought a projector halo headlight with a bulbs inside them. i havent install them yet because someone told me i need a ballast. now i just want to make sure if i really need that

if they are in fact HID/Zenon bulbs then you definitely need ballasts.

i dont even know if they are hid or not. all i know is the headlight i bought comes with bulbs in it.
