HID bulbs flare up when powering on?
Just finished my first ever HID kit install, on a 09 Civic EX 2DR. I used the 4300K kit from XenonDepot (not the Philips bulbs). I did not use the relays.
Quick question: when I first switch on my lowbeams, the HID bulbs flare up really bright for a split second, then immediatley drop down to a dim blue-ish tint and gradually turn to a bright stark white over a period of 20 seconds or so. The color temp shift with the warming up of the bulbs seems normal to me, but should I be worried about that brief flare-up of the bulbs when first switching them on? Using a relay should not have any effect on this, should it? Thx! |
