Does a HID conversion affect your warranty?

Hello, I am brand new to 8thcivic.com and I had a question about a HID conversion kit. Does a HID conversion affect your warranty?

It will affect the warranty on certain parts of your car. Most notably the headlights themselves and the wiring associated with those. If you ever have a problem with either of those during the warranty period tho then just uninstall the HIDs and reinstall stockers before taking the car into Honda for service.

it doesnt neccessarily affect the whole cars warranty. It only affects what HID affects. So for example if the HID kit melts your headlight harness, it wont be covered.

So if you have a rattle or other warranty issue, it wont rejected becuase of the HID kit.

Way too many threads like this. Best bet is to call your dealership or the Honda centre you go to and ask them personally. I know my service centre wouldn't care if I were to drop a turbo charger in there right now, because they're just enthusiasts just like me.

NOOOO! The ECU records the HIDs and stores the info. Just like redlining. You take it in they'll know!!!

If you get HIDs, your complete powertrain and extended warranty is void.
