Halos and Xenon HID Bulbs

I drive a 2008 Civic EX Coupe and I am considering getting a completely new front lighting system.

I don't really know a lot about this kind of stuff so I thought this was probably the best place I could ask.

I want to get halos for sure, so I picked out these.

06-08 Honda Civic 2Dr Twin Halo LED Projector Headlights - Black

YouTube - Halo Honda Civic Projector Lights 2008

It doesn't come with any bulbs, so I could use my stock bulbs, but I don't really want to. I got the bulb sizes of Sylvania.com.

Low Beam
9006

9006 Intense-White Xenon HID Light Bulbs - (pair) - BH9006HATW

High Beam
9005

9005 Intense-White Xenon HID Light Bulbs - (pair) - BH9005HATW

Fog Lights
H11

H11 Intense-White Xenon HID Light Bulbs - (pair) - BHH11HATW

And then I just have one question. On Sylvania, it says the Parking Light is size 3357LL. I assume the Parking Light is the same thing as Day Time Running lights, but I read somewhere that the Day Time Running bulbs are the same size as the High Beam bulbs. They just use less power and thus are less bright. I'm not sure if this is true. So that kind of conflicts. Which size is it?

If the DTR Lights are the same size as the high beams, thats great and I will get just two sets of those 9005's. But if they are the 3357LL size, I'm not sure I can find halogens for those in which case I will probably just have them unplugged.

I assume I'm not doing anything wrong and this will all work, but I am kinda a dumb ass when it comes to this kind of stuff so I really just need your help/input.

Our DRL is the high beam running in lower voltage (about 7.6v), instead of 12v when high beam turned on. So, it is the same 9005 bulb, and you need one set only. The 3357LL is the Parking light (the amber light on front when you switch to the first light position) and turn signal light, again, it is one bulb for both purpose.

BTW, before you buy some new bulb, you may want to double check with the vendor, some of those aftermarket halo projector headlight using H1 bulb for both high and low beam, with an adapter harness to 9005/9006 plug come with it.

Awesome. Thanks for the advice. I assume I would keep the ambers for the parking light/turning signals? What would you do?

Beware... so of the aftermarket headlights are using H1 and other bulb size. I think you should wait the headlights or as above, ask the seller. And ask them if the headlights are able compatible for HID system because some of their projectors will melt due to the high heat from HID.

Depends on which state you are, Amber turn signal probably required by law and most likely you don't want to change that.
Are you really sure you need a new headlight? It sounds like you want to keep using halogen instead of upgrade to HID. I don't think those aftermarket projector headlight give you much better / brighter light when compare with the OEM, if you still using halogen lamp. Also, since you asked some basic questions, I'm assuming you are new to DIY on your car, I will suggest you to read a lot more here before go ahead.... You will need to remove the bumper, remove the old headlight and install the new one, aim the new light, then put the bumper back. There are a couple threads here about the bumoer removal and halo projectors installation. good luck.

I just finished my tsx HID retrofit this morning with using ebay headlamps, and all I have to say is don't buy those lights. First off, the bulb output on the halogens that come with those lights are no different than the stock lights/bulbs. Secondly, the Halos/angel eyes are not nearly as blue as they show in the pictures. They are pure white. They're not bad looking, but they don't look anything like the pictures.

Just buy some new bulbs or convert to HID.
