Looking into HIDS

Hey guys, im in the market to buy an HID kit that emits a pure white light. I'm kinda noob when it comes to HIDs so can u guys make suggestions on what's the best brand to buy? What I mean by that mainly is which has the best cut off and such.

cutoffs are going to be terrible due to your stock headlight housing unless you do retros. search the forum but theres brand like VVME (cheapest price, iffy qualtiy) DDM (more money, slightly better quality) and thats all i can think of

4300k emits a white/slight yellow light (brightest)
6000k emits a pure white/slight blue (close to brightest and my fav color)
8000k emits white/strong blue hue (not as bright)
over that is pointless

Good luck!

I just bought some 10000k off Amazon.com for like $90? They're Sportivas and I've used them before, very trustworthy. Chances are they will look bad because our headlights aren't made for them? But I'll post pics when I get mine in/installed.

Good point about the stock headlight housing, does this mean my only option is to go in to a retro fit, $$$!!!!, or get tsx headlights?

I wanna buy some projectors, but just don't have the money right now. I'm just going to see how they look stock.

I sort of agree with the guy a few posts up about them being pointless, but they look so effing good. My ex actually has my old 10ks and says theyre horrible in the rain but I'm not too worried about it and hes an idiot anyways =]

how bad will the cutoff be? i just ordered some HIDs off ebay for 65$$ ultra slim ballasts. from seller lighting623 a lot of people order from him and were happy.
but are the cutoffs horrid or just same as stock halogens or something?

bi xeon means that if you have a car with your highs and your lows are one bulb it will switch to high beams with the kit.. since we have 2 diff blbs for high and low it dont apply to us...... since i have stock headlamps the cutoff sucks, but it will with even the best kit with stock headlamps.....

ddmtuning.com slim ballast kit ftw. the cutoff isnt great due to no projectors (none of them will be), but visibility is still great, especially with brighter colors like 6000 or 4300k. I have 6000's in my si and I just ordered another set for my fogs

edit: my cutoff looks exactly like that^^
