No, that website is to validate authentic merchandise and fight counterfitting since China is the biggest exporters of counterfitting products. China has less strict laws with regards to road laws and their manufacturers yet if you go to their website Philips Lighting Asia Pacific (check the site), they do not have any products that correspond to rebased kits.

Exactly, so we'll know soon enough if any Philips kits are authentic right? It's stated on that page that it will be used for "HID light source" based goods. I am assuming HID kits..

HID light source means HID equiptment which is what has been on the market with the Philips/hella ballasts the slim and bulky models for years already. It's also for the bulbs as each box has a unique product number.

BTW, this is very similar as to what they did before with the "bosch" they were distributing and obtaining from the philipines. Now, they changed it to Philips. Here's some further proof:

Yeah I've seen similar papers to those as well, I sent China Philips and e-mail hopefully they can read English, I do not know how to type in Chinese. Maybe they can share some info on this.

You send the email to Philips in Germany, not China. China Philips are merely distributors and assamblers. Everything is made in Germany.

China Philips is the one authorizing the creation of these kits, either way I'll send one to Philips Germany as well.

Assemblers, doesn't that mean it's made in China? I know a lot of people say that it doesn't matter where all the components come from , it's where all the components are put together (assembly) that matters.

No, assambled in China means Assambled in China.
Same goes to for our cars.
If you own a Honda, parts are made in japan/canada/us but the car is fully assambled in the US.
Assamblying does not mean made-in.
Oh yeah, let me give you a response in advance from Philips Germany:
"I would like to talk to this dealer selling such products under our name".

BTW, there are more models that are branded "Philips" yet they look yellow and orange and come with their "certificate of authenticity".

I don't think the question is whether Philips is working with factories in China. The problem I have is when the item is claimed to use German components when they are not really German components. Our cost on one genuine German made Philips ballast is pretty much the same as an entire HID kit made in China from an "authorized" Philips factory.

Yeah I think thats why Philips made the site to fight against counterfeit products.

I'm just waiting for someone to respond to me from either China Philips or Germany Philips.

Yes, it is sold by a company in China and a few hid kit resellers have them on stock. See the certificate and manual being identical to the rest of other "philips kits"?
It's cheaper to counterfit certificates too.

+1.

I'd rock one of these Philips kits.

Where do I get one of those? Looks like a slim kit to me if I'm not mistaken.

No they are your typical bulky ballast. You need to buy in bulk though.
10 sets for $3,000 + shipping haha
