Exclamation HIDs gone crazy?

I just installed my HIDs today, they are Apexcone 55w 8k (pretty weird how the output is still pure white)

well anyway today it rained and I was driving on the freeway and I ran over big puddles on the freeway with my lowbeams on. Then about 15 minutes later as I was exiting the freeway, I was following this big black truck and saw my cars reflection, then I noticed my left headlight has gone out, and thought to myself maybe its just a loose wire, so I turned my headlights off and got to my house and I was about to get ready to check out whats the fck was going on with my headlight until I decided to test out my lights once again. and then my left headlight turned on.

What is getting me confused is why did it turn off in the first place and decide to turn on once I got home?

the ballast and wires are secured tight.

and btw I doubt they over heated because I only had them on for 15 minutes until i noticed one was out

any thoughts guys?

i got the 35w kit from them and 8000k and i think they sent me 6000k cuz its white also. anyway u may have problems with the kit because of it being 55 watt. it may burn up the wiring unless u have a relay i think it is

it might have a mind of its own...lol but if the wires are secured and nothing is fried, you can try to check your fuses to see if they are loose.

this is my 3rd Apexcone HID purchase and I did not problems with the previous ones except they were both 35w.

you sure about it burning up my wiring relay?

all i know is that u can do some serious damage with the 55 watt kit if u dont protect your wiring with a relay i think it is. but im just lettin u know about that. it could be many things. most likely a faulty ballast though

I just had my car running for 45 minutes with my HIDs on to test it out if they would go out on me, turns out it didnt die on me.

I'm just not happy with the apexcone HID's I bought from DDMT. The output they produce are pure white, I wanted a little hint of blue thats why I went for 8k. they look exactly like the 5k I had previously but those were 35w and my new ones are 55w.

From what I read, the 55w ballast really drowns out the color but I mine have a hint of blue to them but I would like to have them a little more blue. 55w ballast produces more light so I think I'll stick with them for now

Check it out homie. Check the relay. I had the same thing happen to mine. The relay can be bought at most autoparts stores for like $7. If it turns out to be the problem, it would be wise to wrap the relay in someway. (I used celophane,sp?)

Hope this helps.

thanks for the input, I will consider in buying one once it gives me more problems, I just finished driving and testing them out for another half hour just now and I sense no problems anymore. I hope it was just that big puddle I ran over at the freeway today (almost hydroplaned) which probably caused the water to sort of move the ballast or something.

it happened to me again tonight. good thing it went out when I was already entering my driveway.

People are saying that the only way to fix that from happening is to buy a harness for it.

does that solve the problem?

and where is the cheapest place I can buy them at?

I had an ebay HID kit on my 07 civic for about a year, the left bulb would go out after a few seconds, or several minutes into my trips. Switching them off and on again would fix it but it got annoying. I replaced both bulbs with another brand and they have both worked just fine since then. Although I've heard that it may be the bulbs or the ballasts which causes this, unless you have spares to test out it's going to be pretty difficult to pinpoint.
