How do the DRL and high heads work?

Do the DRL's just run at a lower wattage then when you turn the highs on run at full?

??

DRL's turn off when low beams are on.

Rephrase your question.......

Did you rewire your lights??

When no head lights are on, the DRL's are on. When you turn the headlights on, with the brights, the High beams, which are also the DRL's, shine brighter. Or am I looking at this wrong?

DRLs are always on when the car is on, they also run at a lower wattage until you turn your highbeams on, the DRLs turn off once you turn your lowbeams on
is that what your looking for?

Yes, the daytime lights are the high beam bulbs, but run at about 5 less volts so they're much dimmer.
They run though the same wire though so it would be difficult to separate the circuits.

Wrong.

During the daytime, DRLs are on.

During normal night time, just the low beams are on (outermost bulbs).

Driving in the empty country roads at night, DRLs are then on at full power (serving as the high beams), combined with the low beams on at normal power.
