Anyone run these long term? I did an HID conversion on my Audi and had some issues. First it would over load the circuit and shutdown ABS/TCS. I would have to turn the ignition off and on and eventually they would fire without tripping ABS/TCS. I realize hondas will have completely different wiring but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced any gremlins like this?
Also with my Audi HID kit when you turned it on it would interfere with radio reception. Not completely wipe it out, but it was like I was instantly 30 miles further away from the signal. Strong signals wouldn't be effected tremendously, but weak/medium signals would be. Any radio reception interference issues with these aftermarket HID kits?
Any recommendation on kits? I'm not saying money is not an issue, but I don't want to put junk in my car. So a good deal on the best equipment available is sort of what I'm thinking about.
I bought the kit 2 years ago. I wouldn't have thought it would have been that outdated. But I'm not getting much response to this so I guess I can assume very few people are having problems with these kits?
Now I read there is a volt kit and an xtreme kit. Are there any other big players out there that I should be looking at? Is the xtreme worth the extra money?
this can happen if the ballast isn't grounded. how did you mount it? If you used double sided tape then that could be your problem. the best way to ground the ballast is to screw it directly to the frame. some kits come with metal ballast holders that make it easier to mount.
Im interested in purchasing HIDs as well, i'm lost between getting 6K @ 35w or shoot for 8K @ 35w or 55w. The website says the 55W bulbs are 40% brighter but as a result an 8K bulb @ 55w will look like a 6K bulb @ 35w color wise.
I was the best light output but i dont want to blind on coming cars and dont want the bulbs to melt the headlights or worse. Any advice?
I love the way Audi's look but at heart they are VW which are probably the most unreliable cars I have ever come across.. but like I said they look fantastic. I have a little game when I drive and count all the vw, audi, merc, bmw to see how many have non working front/ rear lights... try it out its fun I swear... you will see at least 1/3 with a prob..
They maybe german and luxurious, but they don't have :vtec: :woowoo: :thumb:
