anyone know how to search through that site correctly, ive been on it for the past 3days and am trying to find a how-to section. or step by steps on a retrofit. i would post there but that site seems crazy uptight concerning newbies. ive read their hidplanet university sections and tried searching but havent came up with anything. any help is greatly appreciated
Boolean searches work best on their site, so many threads mention the same thing over there that whenever i search for shield mods to RX330 AFS projectors with the phrase Rx330 AFS shield i get just about every thread on there, but if i use RX330 AND AFS AND shield i get a smaller sampling
there are also a couple of good diys on here for doing a retrofit
and other people just chattin about theres. i mean the concept seems pretty basic to me. and a step by step would be gratefull. i know this site has retrofit sponsers, i hope a link to it wont be a problem. but ive already bidded on some tl projectors and going to buy up everything i need for this
Now that you have your projector mounted and balanced. The last step to this retrofit requires that you add some sort of shroud to cover the projector bowl. Thus some creativity is needed. A common shroud which people like are the MDX shrouds. I would have to leave you guys to figure this out on your own.
shrouds are done in whatever way you can make it work, my shrouds are attached with RTV gasket maker together and then to the front of the projector itself (unfortunately with blue RTV cause it was my first retro but im correcting that soon)
ok i see, well it appears that some projectors need a custom shroud to hold the light from leaking, and some dont and are just asthetic. well thats more then enough info i should be alright for now as im just purchasing and planning. thanks, this can be locked now
