X on headlights?

i saw an X on the headlight of some guys sig on here and earlier today, some guy was driving with an X on his headlight.

is this supposed to mean something?

In the old days... I believe that tape was placed over the glass head lights to prevent the glass from shattering onto the track.

Is that what you are talking about?

I believe it was used strictly for the track cars. For the vehicle you saw this on, I think they're just going for looks. (Even though there's not much to look at

)
