retrofit projectors

hey guys i sent a email to www.customlightz.com asking about some black retro projectors lights. here is the response from them:

"The retrofit labor is $275, and then you need to add the HID parts to the total price. We have a black Si retrofit on the way...you might want to stay tuned for that one. We are actually using the black car paint with metalic cips for that oneThe retrofit labor is $275, and then you need to add the HID parts to the total price. I can't wait to see pics of that. I like the idea of those black lights that were on ebay, but i didn't real like how they made it. Hopefully customlightz will make some nice ones

They make great products, especially if you look at Tim's car, and the other stuff they work with. Bjorn's a great guy to talk to, as I've been shooting him emails back and forth. Looks like they lowered down the price a little.

All I need to do now is to get my extra Si headlights in the mail and over to them, along with my TSX projectors! I might hold-off, to see if I like any shrouds out at the moment. HIDPlanet has some guy selling the JDM Odyssey (yes, the van) HID Shrouds, that would look great on a FBP or Black Si...since they're tinted lightly blue. Might think into doing that...but I love the retrofit that had the black bezels colormatched...that one looks SICK! Might have to get them to do similar.

Hell yes. That's yours right? That looks awesome! I'd have gone with black and kept the amber...and paint whatever reflector in the housing is left black (apart from the Hi-Beam)...but it looks NICE! What kind of shrouds did you use? I see MDX. You may have something of a copycat, once Bjorn is done with mine. =P

That, or maybe the E46 2.5" shrouds. I kinda like the fact they say "Xenon" on the side.

We'll see...I love that little collar on the E46 one...but I don't like the rest of the shape of it.

Then there's also those Odyssey shrouds...but I'm sure they'll look pretty bad in color when put next to Galaxy Grey. I'd say for someone with a FBP or NBP Civic pick those up, since they're so rare, and the blue would really be nice against a blue or black car. Maybe even Taffy White...

seriously...those JDM blue ones being sold over at hidplanet are sick! Do it your way man...and no worries about the copy...i copied Tim,lol, right Tim!

You shouldn't have shown us how good the MDX look on the TSX Tim,lol!

How in the world do the guys at customlightz aim the projectors without the cars? The up/down is simple and can be done post seal, but the left right and horizontal aiming was a pain in the ass, even w/ the car. How are yours aimed Tim? I have had several people offer to pay me to do this...but then i realized that i would have to either remove my bumber to aim their lights correctly or build some sort of a jig that held the lights in the right position because even the slightest bit off and they look pretty bad IMO.

I think the E46 w/ xenon in chrom on a black reflector would look REAL good too!

That just might sway/nay me! Put those up/Get it done quick! :)

I might snatch them up (the Odyssey Shrouds)...but painting them black would negate all the cool-ness factor from them.

to be honest I have looked at the E-46 and I dont think they cover enough deep for the 8th gen headlight. The MDX are a good fit.

My quote was $275, and I believe someone else's was as well. So around there.

I'm not sure exactly what I paid strictly for retrofitting work, because I bought my ballasts and bulbs from them, but that sounds ballpark.

Did you buy everything from them? What was your total cost?
