Ok i think ive got most of this down as i have been searching a lot. I want to get yellow fogs to go along with my 6000k HID low beams. I have found many H11 bulbs to go in clear OEM fogs (not retro fitted). I am a little confused by the whole wattage thing. 35W is the proper amount for the fogs (H11)? I have only found 55W ones. Can i put 55W H11 bulbs in my fogs without them melting or do i need a wiring harness/ballast like my HID low beams? I found these online. I was just planning on getting the bulbs but will i need a harness for 55W? I may just go with 35W if i need to. Im just a little confused.

Luminics JDM Yellow (H11) Headlight Bulbs|Luminics Headlight Bulbs|Luminics Lighting Products

because those say 55-130w??

a) where did u hear its "35" watts... its 55, same as low beam bulb, 55 watts
b) those are the most common used 55 watt yellow bulb, yes they are 55 watts, but they use gimicky marketing to claim it has the output of a 130 watt bulb.. which it CLEARLY does not to be DOT legal lol

yellow will be only good for fog tho, so unless u live in the new england area or an area with dense rain/fog, i would suggest just sticking with a set of XtraVisions (DONT EVER DO SILVERSTARS< THEY ARE A GIMMICK AS WELL!!!)

high beam bulb can be grabbed from inside the engine bay and rotated, comes right out

Question Similar question....

Okay I have been looking through the internet looking at different bulbs and such...and came across a pair from passwordjdm.com. My question is...has anyone bought them and how do they look? My other question is would these bulbs fit, I mean it does say the correct fitment number...9006.
My other question is, meow I know this may sound n00b-ish but what does the wire harness that some bulbs offer do? In fact, what is it? Like do you really need it?

do your research and then it wont sound noobish
any harness takes power direct from the battery when power surges thru your stock harness, that way to not blow your stock harness that goes back to your light stalk
9006 = 9006 u answered your own question

not sure what bulbs they offer
BUT
blue bulbs, or ghetto ebay bulbs = horrible output (that INCLUDES sylvania silverstars)
yellow bulbs = less output but yellow (good in rain/fog)

Do you need an actual kit for HIR 9012 bulbs, or do you just plug them in? I found them on ebay, but it didn't state if a kit was required for the installation.

its simply a 9012 bulb, file off some tabs to get them to fit (he marks the tab) and its simply like putting another halogen bulb (it is halogen man lol)

question...after putting in my new smoked led tail lights, I noticed one of brake lights is burnt out. It's not THE brake light as it was replaced by leds. INSTEAD, it is that very small and stubby looking light that plugs in just to the side of the main brake light. It goes into where the reflectors are along the side. What size bulb is THAT?

Hey buddy I'm alittle confuse with the question here but from what your saying I would have to say its probably:

Back Up Light Bulb Size:
921

So if you could get some help from someone at home to see if ur back up light is burnt out.

are you refering to the white light when I throw the car in reverse? That's not what I'm talking about. The little one I'm talking about is part of the braking lights. You have the big brake light and the small one.

ur talking about the small 194 bulb on the side
replace that with a white/red led and youll be all set (i suggest WHITE)
go as high powered as can fit in there

Do you suggest a certain type of led? For example, some led bulbs have several leds on them or some have almost microscopic leds that look like yellow dots on a flat surface. I was planning on replacing them with leds but didn't know the exact type of bulb. thanks

the microscopic leds as u call them
this is a cluster led set
that is always better than those stupid nichia leds found in cheapo flashlight
its gonna be a really small bulb tho, just remember that
and the more u pay (from the SAME vendor, either vleds or warden on ebay) the better the led of course

I'm not sure I know what you are refering to when you say Nichia leds... have you bought any of these off of ebay? If so, shoot me a link if you don't mind of some on ebay that are good.

a nichia led is like your standard led
what you think of when u hear led, its simply a elongated half circle that is intense but only from one direction
alot of places mislead using those and superflux leds saying they put out more lumens that even a car headlight
this is by FAR, not true
high power leds are only starting to be released that are close to the power of a headlight
for instance the SSC p series contains a 10 watt led that puts out 900 lumens.
a nichia led MIGHT put out 3 lumens

luxeon is known for high power leds as well, but nothing in the SSC light output yet

neways
i dont have a link
just go to v-leds.com
its the same stuff youll find on ebay
i havent replaced those cause i still havent put on my led taillights
once i do ill buy a set
verify the bulb name/size with sylvania's website for bulb replacement
