got hit (pics) but should I do the JDM conversion?

Well I got hit today at work by the landlord when no one was there (5:15pm). I was parked, he backed into me. His insurance will pay. Ill need a new front bumper, fender, fender trim, maybe a headlight.

Should I get the jdm conversion parts and just have the claim $$ put towards the conversion? Ill have to spend some cash but it'd be sweet!

My camera phone is busted too.

Price it out and see wht they are going to give you for the fix. Then make your choice.

YES!!!! this is exactly what I want to happen to my car. Instead of paying thousands for the conversion you could probably get it for only a few hundred dollars.

take it to honda for the estimate..they charge the most! but take it to a few places, and take the most expensive

Not a big fan of the CSX/JDM front end, so if I were you I wouldn't do it. I see CSXs all the time and I kinda like the Civic's front end better.

It sounds like a good excuse to do the conversion!

procivic has it the cheapest($2500). everywhere else is around 2800 or more, and most use cdm hood and fenders(no side markers). i screwed up my front end and was going to do this... but id rather have the rear end then the front.

i wouldn't do it....i have an si sedan too, i'm not all crazy bout the conversion....

i am crazy bout a supercharger...i'd see if i can get a lil extra money and save towards that.

Remember, God forbid if u get into another accident and it winds up looking like your fault, insurance won't pay and you'll definitely be paying alot more for the conversion then.

Well, I went and got an initial estimate. its only 1000, they said my headlights are okay and the stock bumper is just "bent" and can be shaped again... I think im entilted to a new bumper. I go to the insurance company this am so we shall see what they say.

I may just bring it to usdm standards, then put the money towards the hfp kit. Not sure, we'll see.

i don't understand how this works....how do you personally get a check to do it? insurance usually pays it out to the place you get it fixed no? and how do you get them to order parts that didn't come on your car?
