Intro and Pics of My New FA5

Hi all. I've been kind of hanging around here for a while trying to decide if I really wanted to sell my 99 EM1 buy a new Si. I finally took the plunge and bought an 08 FA5 in Habi Red, and now I am wondering why I waited so long. Man I love this car. Everything is just... right about it. Even things I at first didn't like about the 8th gen Civics, like the dash layout and the raked windshield, now seem perfect.

I loved my old 99 a lot, and I didn't think anything could suitably replace it. Obviously I was wrong. It was tough to part with the old girl after nearly 9 years, but I definitely made the right decision.

OK, enough babble, on to the gratuitous photo whoring (click for full size)

The new ride:

My old 99 Electron Blue Pearl Si, just before I sold it with 153K miles on it:

And my other toy, 06 GSX-R 750:

This is a great community here; it has been a huge help to me during my purchase. Hopefully I can contribute more now that I've got my own 8th gen.

The dash grows on you really easily. Makes you wonder why more cars aren't made like it is in the in 8th. LOL.

Welcome to the family.

How much did you get for your EM1 if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah, the funny thing about the dash is, when you're standing next to the car, it looks a little strange, but when you're sitting in the driver's seat, everything just falls into place. Plus with the small steering wheel, it feels like you're driving a F1 car.

I love the engine too. Much smoother than the B16, and even though it's bigger, it revs much more freely. And then there's the sound!... Can't wait 'til the break in period is over so I can really get on the (though I have to admit I have cheated a little)

I ended up selling the old Si for $4,700. Would have liked to hold out for closer to 5k, but I had a good deal lined up on the habi, and didn't want to mess around. If anyone is looking for a Honda in the Central PA area, go to Blair Honda and ask for Sean, he will treat you right.
