Change the oil just in case they did drive it hard and there is some extra break-in goods in there. Other than that there's nothing you can really do. Other than pray of course. Sorry I am so negative, I just really don't trust dealerships as far as driving new cars goes. I would drive it softly unless I needed to do a harsh drive in a customers car to see if I fixed the problem or not, but there are very few people who are courteous of other peoples property.

Back to your comment. Even if your work was exactly 40 miles away, where did the other 20ish miles come from? You're good to drive it like you want, but I would change the oil first, again you don't know what they did while driving it over there.
I did not have much of a choice.

I had to get a new car asap, my daughter is being treated for leukemia, one of the chemo drugs messed up her clotting, she got clot in her brain, stroke, seizures and so she was put on anti-clotting injections twice a day. need to protect her from any sort of bumps, esp the head.

now she feels good enough to go back to school, and I have to take her to school every day.

so we needed a safer car than my previous one, an 89 240SX, also, she has grown up over the last year, and could not really fit in the back seat anymore her head was way to close to the roof.

I bought the Civic Si since it was the safest car I could afford.

I was looking for a car that has good handling and braking, electronic stability control, anti-lock brakes, traction control, air bags/curtains all around, good crash ratings.

my daughter's favorite color is blue, and the only FBP available was 30 miles away, with 25 miles on the odometer. (I guess from previous test drives).

because my credit sucks (too many late medical bills) had to put the financing under my wife's name, but there was no way that she could drive to the dealership and sign the papers, so the only choice was to have the dealer deliver the cars to my office. putting yet another 30 miles on it.

I have three jobs, all over the place, so in two days, I put yet another 340 miles on the car...

thanks,

-avi

Well if anything was done there is nothing you can do now, no need to worry about it.

Your car came broken in from the factory. You have done nothing to better or worse your car so relax.

Enjoy it! Follow your maintenance schedule and life will be good.

I read this whole thread... and i think its funny
Look, your car comes with a 3 years 36k mile warantee.....relax. My personal opinion, car companies design cars to eventually break down. So I wouldnt trust them. But im paranoid 90% of the time. Becareful what you write, the government will get you.

One had a neighbor that claimed the tires came with "break-in" air in the tires. He would flatten all four tires every time he bought a new car and fill them back up.

I swear...true story...

actually it was MY opinion, do you know the definition of an opinion? Im sure there would be other people that would dissagree, making what I said an opinion. I doubt that honda or any other car companies would admit to say that their cars were being built to break down. But I do know that they could be built to last forever. .

I think he meant to say, is what you were saying was a fact, not an opinion.

Any item being engineered will have a finite life of use. This is for two reasons.

1) It costs more money (money the consumer will have to pay) if something is designed to last indefinitely.

2) It is a marketing stratagy. If cars did not break people would not buy new ones. This is true for almost all products on the market.
