Thanks for the welcome. Took a look at some gallery photos and others found on the net of Si's with the additional bodywork. Does look damn sharp. Initially I wasn't too sure. Still have to see one up close. I know with the Mazda Miata line, they really screwed up the clean lines with tacked on bodywork after a certain period. The new 06 Miata does a great job of refreshing the lines. Si without the HFP kit looks fine already but additional panels do give it a more sinister look. Just hope I can get my hands on one at the dealer. Was told they are very scarce. Several individuals already have deposits for the next few incoming. Still debating what color I want too. Silver is always great but the dark blue and the habenaro red look great as well. Choices, choices. My buy is still a few months off. Last car I had to wait for was a '85 Audi Coupe Quattro I bought new in Germany. 6 whole months. That sucked. But all good things come to those who wait. Right?

Guess that's the negative aspect (for consumers) of a product being extremely popular right out of the starting gate.

Hey guys...not exactly new, but to some of you I might be. I imported from 8thgen back in February. Glad to see we've merged without (too many) problems. Welcome to all the new folks.

Long Introduction

Hi Everybody,

I was notified when I logged in that I had never made a post...

I'll make up for that right now. I am a LONG TIME Honda owner and I have had pretty much nothing but Honda's in my garage since 1981 starting with my first 1976 Civic. I currently daily drive a 1999 Civic Si, tow my 1984 CSP CRX with my 2006 Ridgeline and there resides in the garage a 1967 Honda S800 Coupe undergoing (neverending) restoration. Oh, and I have a 1989 Honda CBR600 Hurricane for occassional diversion.

My plan was to replace the 99 with a Civic Sedan and I cannot tell everyone just how happy I am that Honda is going to build an Si Sedan. Make mine white with dark grey Kosei wheels please.

I would imagine that I am somewhat out of the normal demographic for this forum (50+) but I guess everyone will just have to get over it!

Looking forward to making friends and learning a thing or two.

Good Day. I just purchased a Civic Ex MT that I will pick up tomorrow. I'm looking forward to this new generation Civic. I must tell you that I'm not new to Honda. This will be my 7th Honda. I'm looking forward to this car, and to this site. Cheers!

Hello!!!!!!!

Just bought a 2006 EX NAV for a cheap $20,500.00. Looks sharp. So far so good, then again I never get a chance to drive it as my wife has it all the time. Great Board!!!!! So I guess I will get to read about all the great things this new generation vehicle can do. Some day she will let me drive it.

Thinking about reprograming the NAV voice activated system to preform the following feature.

EJECT WIFE

PS: she didn't find it very funny. Oh well.

Oh one more thing. Can't get that Badger song out of my head SNAKE SNAKE!!!

New to Honda and Forum

Just bought an 06 Si, white w/o NAV.

I've known that Honda has been making great cars for a long time, and I have to drive 42.5 mile each way to work and back. So I needed something reliable, pretty good on gas and fun to drive.
This car has it all! Looks, speed, handling and comfortable seats and a decent stereo. I'm thinking of moving farther away from work so I can drive it more
I might tint the windows, but keep it pretty much stock, because I want to keep it as reliable as I can. I've been repairing my own cars since before I had a license, and I'm tired of wrenching during my free time, besides, I have my wife's Chevy to do that with. So a Honda was the perfect choice.
I can tell this forum will be entertaining as well as informative. I'm glad I found it.

Greetings Fellow Forum Members.

Picked up my Black 06 Si last month...received plates last week...a bit sad because once I got my plates...didn't feel like my car is new anymore...just moved to SoCal in December...any fellow members from SoCal?

Peace Out!

Guess I should introduce myself.

I've owned a few Hondas in the past - 81 Civic HB was the last one that I drove regularly though - lowered, cammed, headers, test pipe, flames, etc. when I worked at a Honda dealer.

Most recently we had a 98 Civic EX 4-door that my youngest son drove, but it met its demise in a rainstorm in December 2005. Now he's cruising in a 2006 GG Civic LX Coupe.

I've been driving a MINI Cooper S for the past few years but looked hard at the Si when it came out. And this past weekend (3/18/06) I traded it in on a 2006 Fiji Blue Si. They gave me an unbelievable trade-in on the MCS and I just couldn't resist.

I was a professional mechanic for 10 years and have done my own car work since I was 18 ( that's been almost 30 years!)

I'm looking forward to hanging out here and learning about the new technology.
