Welcome to 8thcivic iverson.
I say go with the EX if you want affordability. It's cheaper on gas and better mileage too.
The 8th genneration civic is a huge upgrade from 7th gen.! Have you drove a 2006 civic yet?

Nope sure haven't. Just my little ole 01. I'm leaning more towards the EX with navi. I've read alot of posts about the navi having problems with window tinting. Something I plan on having done almost immediatly. Do most tints have traces of metal in them?

No, just make sure the tint installer knows you hava a navi and they will use non-metallic tint.

What is up guys, i'm sean, 22, from austin, tx. I just put in the order for my 06 haby red pearl SI, should be here on March 10th!!!!! I'm really freaking excited, i haven't had a car in about a year, a tunable one in about 4. I go to St. Edwards University and am studying photography and web design. My plans are to go all engine, but i might change my mind after a while, looking forward for the Hondata ECU flash, and all the skunk2 parts, prolly won't go cat back, axel back most likely. Frankly i am really grateful that i am getting the SI!!!!!

Welcome to 8thcivic Dan.
Looks like a pretty cool car club you have going there in Cincy. What mods do you have in store for your new Si? Do you attend many carshows?

Attend a lot of shows usually... Like i said i traded the S away because of money reasons.. Bought a spankin new condo, However Every car guy is always low on money!!! Looking into Lowering, tint, and wheels as a "phase 1" I really want to hook up with some FI.. That gets peoples jollies going as well as mine! BUT WE'LL SEE! I will definetely start modding soon though.. At the researching stage.. Suggestions? ha

Hola! Here to introduce myself. Not an Si owner yet but will be this summer after my 16 year daughter acquires the '94 Accord. Been a Honda owner forever however. Wife's ride is a very nice '03 CR-V. Did have a '00 Miata that was mildly modified by me but larger family dictated that it be sold. Miss the car but decided I'm not really a convertible person anyway. Sort of had my sights set on a Subie STI but that's big bucks. The '06 Civic Si is perfect for what I'm looking for. Decided that is the car for me despite not even having test driven one. Found this forum and knew it was the best place to get any of my questions answered and eventually brag about my new ride!
Question: what do you folks think of the dealer offered body work for the Si? I can't decide if I like it or not. Perhaps have to see one with the added chin spoiler and side skirts to decide myself but curious what the general opinion is on this.

Oh, I'm in cental Ohio and I'm retired Air Force working as technical writer now. Always loved cars and motorsports. Particularly F1. Spent 15 years in Germany with the AF and sure miss the autobahnen!!

Welcome to 8thcivic Fixer.
IMO the HFP body kit looks great. See members gallery for pics, I know there's a few of them with the kit. Wicked_Stylz has the HFP kit on his Si.^
