This is the worst thing to happen to me.......
.........That when they painted my front end they didn't paint it this good the first time.....
MY old hfp lip and bumper had rain drop imprints in the bumper from the rain hitting the clear coat when it wasn't dry so i was tight about that the fender from the initial accident had clear coat drip....and i was impatient and they put the hfp lip on wrong me and rick fixed that the best we could...and it looks great now. then they had finger prints in my clear coat ,because they had to press the hfp lip onto the bumper as you all now.... so yeah i wanted it re done..wonder if i covered it all o yeah PICS ill have more e by the end of tonight ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() my neighbors S that he lets me drive when he is riding his bike...his brother has a 00 GSR Blk and a CBR 600 all they drive is honda ![]() thanks to rick jrmartinez who lives 500 feet from me...lol..for helping me with the front lip now its perfect Last edited by GALAXY~SI; 06-27-2007 at 08:44 AM. |

why was it repainted? warrenty of accident?
either way... a professional body shop would clearly see damage if you as a regular customer would. they definatly tried to pass it off as perfect when you picked it up. also...they should never have put teh lip on for a couple of weeks at least since the paint finsih was not baked on. you should never wax or cover up any of your paint, especially the sticker/tape from the lip installation until it has fully cured (this is irrelevent from the dealer because it is a baked on finish).... |

Well i was in a accident the guy painting it is a family friend..kinda my fault because i wanted the lip on so i told yeah put it on it got ****** up besides that on the way home it began to rain so there was paint imprints on my bumper and fender so he said he would redo it.
50%-there fault 50%-My fault the fender he just wet sanded and compund it for the clear coat drip to come off |

depending how hard it rained...the rain spots should be able to be wet sanded off and compunded to a like new finish...as long as the clear coat is thick enough. as far as the finerprint areas...chances are those will never be completely better as you probobly moved/shifted teh clearcoat around slightly as you pushed against it....unless he decides to do a very thorough wet sand and put another final coat of clear on it.
next time leave the car in the garge for at least 24 hours after painting....even if it doesnt rain you will still get debris and dust from the road that will get embedded in the clear. |
