It isnt a Total =/

My SI go hit by an 18 wheeler like 2 weeks ago so the insurance agent came out today to check it out. The total damage done was only 7,868 because no air bags deployed i got screwed with the total. This is BS now they are going to hack the car up then give it back to me at an depreciated value. He also said the car was worth about 21 to 22k WTF its an 06 SI with navi at 18k miles it is not worth 21 to 22k i def think that quote was kinda inflated. I also mentioned to him i received water damage that night due to rain my dash board had a puddle on it,my drivers seat was soaked, the drivers side rug was soaked. It smells like a slight mildew in the car now not to mention all the glass on my dash board in my vents on my NAVI screen WTF the whole dash has to come out i don't know if i trust a shop doing this. This is so frustrating i wish it would have been totaled so i can get out of these high payments and start over but now that wont happen i will keep you guys updated

i wish you the best! Get a new insurance appraiser tho... Ask for a second opinion from another agent/appraiser... I'm sure they will accomidate..

How in the hell would you go about doing that? That's horrible advice.

It's called "diminished value."

Sue the trucking company. That's what I'd do. You will also get double medical bill coverage.

Get a job doing insurance and find out why, like he said if his airbags would of deployed it would of been a total. You think the insurance company really cares? There main concern is actually injury. This is where they spend most of there money, Settlements and what not. Talk to any other insurance orientented friends and they will give you the same advise. Deploy all the air bags if you want a new car. =:} sorry if you do not like that idea, maybe I will go to hell. I am sure people have done worst.

They didn't go off that night the cops seen they didn't so if i did deploy them after i would get raped i def thought about it tho it wouldn't have worked.

They would settle, but I understand what you mean. Your car is going to rattle all to hell, but it's not like they don't do that already.

You wouldnt be in court forever. You would wait forever for the settlement, but the chances of you actually going to court is little to none. The only way you go to court is if you do not except there offer. If you do your lawyer psends the time in court, not you. So I would go for it, but if you do not understandable. Also on a side note, do you think that the reason your top curtain bag didnt deploy because it was pinned in there? Making it impossible to deploy? Id get that looked at as well.

take it to another body shop and have them fight with the adjuster. My mom's 2004 Civic was slammed and they were going to repair it. My dad gave everyone hell and ended up getting it totalled out and getting more than they paid for the car. DO NOT LET THEM WALK ALL OVER YOU. After that crash you would never want that car back, it wont be the same.

TRUST ME.
