Just joined too!

No Honda here. used to have one as a daily driver (EG) but it got stolen and stripped like a bachelor party. its funny how i bought it first as a great gas mileage A>B car but soon found myself fixing up suspension, going LS-VTEC and then doing auto-x...but no, some fool took the easy way and stole my stuff. now i have a NA8 Mazda Miata MX-5 as a DD and love that car to death and have completed my family of Mazdas. i have a friend on this forum and wanted to learn about the new civics and the advancements in engine performance Honda has made, plus add my 2 cents when warranted. So i joined up- no post whore here.

'93 EG H/B- Black no tint (you gotta see at night!!)
list of mods:
susp- Tein SS (F:8k, R:5k), cusco pillowball mounts, rear Susp Tech sway bar, strut bars and tie bars (small name kine, i forgot already), custom 7pt roll bar (6pt with a door bar, so thats 7 right?)

wheels/brakes- 15" flat blk rota slipstream on daily, 15" volk te37 (Front only) for track days, spoon 4pot calipers w/ custom bracket, prelude rear calipers, prelude rotors front and back, blue volk alum lugs

engine- USDM LS-VTEC (B16 head), Spoon venturi plate, ported head, port matched intake mani, generic 4-1 header, SS valves and valve springs, NGK 8mm wires, NGK iridiums, Jacob's ignition coil, MSD cap, Apex'i V-AFC and Power FC, oil catch tank...DC2 rods and pistons...shoot, i'm forgetting...bored TB...Home Depot CAI, deleted A/C, LS sized Koyo...EK9 cams...AEM Tru Time sprockets...mocal 19 row, -8AN SS oil lines, forgot what temp oil thermostat, almost forgot to list- Tanabe exhaust (forgot what model) and custom test pipe.

Tranny- ACT street, quaife lsd, stock gears...never had to replace axels

Interior- Nardi classic blk, Razo mesh pedals, del sol seats, JDM rear seats w/ headrest, no ICE whatsoever. i don't need the next city hearing my music, just loud enough to enjoy INSIDE my car.

Exterior- VIS OEM style CF hood, Spoon replica front air dam, spoon replica duck spoiler, USDM mouldings baby!!, smoked window visors. no stickers, vinyl or crazy body kits.

not too flashy on the outside. hope i didn't forget anything. wow, doesn't seem that much when you upgrade over a handful of years. had her for 6 years. most parts provided (not contributed by) Tom Choe from Camp1320.com- really kewl people.

if you couldn't tell by my handle, i have a rotary. FD3S to be exact...blah blah blah, if you want to hear specs on that car just holla cuz i don't want to make this post longer than it already is. you may or may not know this but the rotary, especially when upgraded, already has very poor fuel efficiency which is why i picked up the EG. yeah, i'm old school. EKs were okay but i didn't like any body style after that regardless of performance since anyone can shoe-horn any motor in any car.

you know what, this already is a long post...screw it!

been into import racing since i was 14 back in '93. of all people it was my youth pastor who got me into the import dragging scene. he used to race an old skool CRX for Jackson Racing waaaaay back in the day. in '96 i got a crappy hand-me-down (so i thought when i got it from my grandma)- 1985 silver on black Toyota Corolla GTS with the ugly graphics at the bottom. had a friend show me what drifting was about with his S14 (zenki) in '97 and there ended my driving-fast-in-straight-lines fad. nothing too crazy with that car, just TRD springs and Tokico adj. shocks, Nardi classic and a total exhaust shop exhaust system, home depot CAI, black 14" SSR mesh. sold that for a pretty penny in 2000 to a guy in TX who had just gotten into Initial D. bought an RPS13 with that money and over 3 years turbo charged the KA with parts from HKS courtesy of Gabe Armijo who no longer works there. body, suspension, blah blah blah- not much track time with that car. they're heavy pieces of shit. bought the EG since the RPS13 was down more than it was running. decided to sell my RPS13 in 2003 when i drove a mildly tuned non-seq turbo'd FD3S and was hooked. bought a rolling chassis FD for $3k, bought a remanufactured race ported 13B-REW motor from Rotary Power in Gardena, CA and had them install it because i didn't research that car before i bought it. researching that car is a MUST. i went backwards but luckily did not have to pay for it by blowing up this motor. just replaced stock turbos with a single Garrett GT35R, new whole exhaust, susp., electronics, blah blah blah...if you guys want specs on this sexy beast and aren't bored with this thread yet, lemme know.

i'm sure your eyes are tired by now so i'll give you guys a break. sorry, maybe next time i'll just have a book published.

Rick

thanks bro! as with any car/engine/concept drawing- whatevers...you can't stop learning. motorsports would then stop progressing, innovation is only relative to time and we'd plateau. i love my cars, they are great (still great for today's standards and my FD is 14yrs old!) cars but will pass on with time...hopefully i take good enough care of them to become classics.
