My Little Photoshoot (or how I nearly killed a dog)

Yes yes there are lots of pictures below but, since you are wondering, I'll explain about the dog situation...

My Dad and I went out today for a little photoshoot to show off my new wheels.
About halfway through our trip we stopped by a park on the James River to take some pictures by a train. While I was going through a gate there was a man walking two dogs on a leash and a woman nearby that had a dog following her. She stopped at the gate so that I could go through, as I was getting ready to position the car so I could back up by the tracks, the dog that was following her wandered up to my door. I gave the dog the meanest most threatening look I could that said "back off."

Apparently the dog didn't get the message has he smiled and proceeded to jump right up on my door and fender.

In frenzied rage I pulled the shifter back into what I thought was neutral but I went right through and hit second. Too late, I let out the clutch and the car lurched right when the dog jumped in front of the car.

The dog proceeded to jump around the car excitedly so I honked the horn in an attempt to get rid of it. Finally (which really all of this happened in a matter of seconds) my dad and I jumped out of the car and I started to head toward the dog. Fortunately for it the man who was walking the two dogs called it over. Fortunate because I was all sorts of angry.

Everyone around was in commotion since the dog nearly killed itself by running amok in front of a moving vehicle and since it had just jumped and scratched the living hell out of my door and fender and trim.

Meanwhile the woman who had been walking with the dog was power walking her way out of there. I assume she was the owner and didn't want anyone to know. People started checking the dog's tags to see if they lived nearby.

I inspected the damage. The dog had put 3 scratches in the fender, one on the door, and had scuffed up the rubber trip under my window. I was pissed as hell. Whoever the owner was better have been glad we didn't have a lot of time because we would have been more than happy to have the owner given a ticket for having an unleashed dog in a public park, on public roads, nearly causing an accident and causing property damage.

Zaino held up well to the assault but unfortunately a 100 pound dog with sand covered claws jumping and flailing its paws was a little much. The only scratches that made it through the Zaino seemed to be directly from the claws digging into the pain. Other than that there didn't seem to be any abrasions from its sand and gravel covered paws which is pretty remarkable.

Right now I am using Zaino PC and more Z2 polish in an attempt to minimize what is there.

So in the end it was live and let live. Though my dad and I would have loved to get a hold of the owner...

So yes, picture time!!!

This last shot here was an attempt to show the damage. Surprisingly you can't really see it at this resolution but the picture was sort of neat so there it is...

I hope you enjoyed the pictures! I like these wheels on TW and the Kuhmo SPT's, though I haven't wrung them out yet, are a significant improvement over the stock all seasons.

Questions, comments, and all that jazz are appreciated! Thanks for looking!

One last thing, if you reply please do not use "reply all." There is no need to repost all the pictures.

Center caps are sitting here.

I haven't decided exactly what I want to do with them. If I put them on I would like to put red Honda "H" logos on them.

Though truth be told, because the lug extends so far on the Si the fronts may not fit, at least without modifying the centercap.

For now I am reluctant to put them on because the blank ones don't look too good and if I put them on, I can't take them off until I take the whole wheel off again.

That and I kind of like the look without centercaps. Though the fronts look more interesting than the rears.

I am a weirdo. For some reason I kind of like the rear orange bulbs.

I will definitely try to get some night shots before long. TW looks awesome under artificial lighting as well. Night shots of TW were a notable factor in my decision to buy TW.

Atleast your dogs alright. You can always fix the scratches, but can't replace your dog.

Nice car though

Looks good.

Drop it, paint the mud guards or remove them, and paint the H's white.

Haha, the dog is not a concern of mine. I wouldn't have hurt it or anything because I am not like that, but if it gets itself owned either by running in front of another car or scratching the car of someone who truly has a temper, well, sucks for it and the negligent owner I guess...

The H's are staying chrome. The car already has a ton of white on it, heh. A few chrome accents on white look great IMO. (like stainless steel and light woods, great combo, sorry to be random...)
It was the reason I was sure to get chrome lugs.

If I do do a drop in the future it will be small, like HFP springs or similar. I am not interested in slamming it due to drivability issues (especially on these shoddy Richmond roads) and because I dislike the squat fender look over the tires.

As far as lip kits, it will likely stay stock throughout its life. I am not a huge fan of the HFP kits. I think they detract from the car's original shape and introduce a lot of harsh angles and a squatness that isn't uniform with the rest of the car. I do like the HFP kits, but not as much as stock. (especially on TW)

That and in my mind it is a lot of money to spend on something that is just stuck onto your car. Plus I'm broke.

No sir, I don't like it. IMO it's way too much white and light colors without any contrast. An FG2 without HFP combined with not being lowered and having light colored rims screams dodge neon to me since it's such a bubbly shape and the 17 inch aftermarket wheels look small to me, I think 18's are the best look unless you're on the stockers which look great. Clearing the headlights look good but when you leave them completely clear, it takes me back to the trends of 2001 (no not the space odyssey, more like when NOPI and APC ruled the ricer land and the bastard child altezza's were still new) especially when you're totally cleared on white. I appreciate what you put in as a mod and I'm starting to sway from my preference of clubsi that I've been a member of since 99' to 8thcivic but I'm not a fan of your car at this stage in the game.

Well I do appreciate you expressed your opinion. I am glad you are liking the 8th, though I found your comments contrasting it and ClubSi a bit misplaced for this thread...

If you don't like the car right now, you likely won't ever like it. Cosmetic stuff it is mostly done. (Of course I say that now...)
Only other thing I can think of that would have anything to do with looks would be a minor drop.

As far as 18's I agree they do look very nice. However I was pretty much set on white wheels, and I wanted them and tires to come in under $1k. Though even if I had a higher budget I would have still considered these.

The only dark colored wheels I like on white are RPM2's and they were too expensive. (about 1k vs 650 for these)

If you want to see RPM2 on TW Hotness just look for Tim's car. If you just want to check out RPM2 hotness look for atruhondagrl.

As you stated exactly in an earlier thread of mine: Zaino on Taffeta White -56k :(-

I look forward to having you post the same comment in every thread in which I post pictures. No really, it gets more original and intuitive each time you state it.

Unless you just have poor memory and think "another" ebay headlight is the exact one you saw before. Maybe they aren't as common as you thought?

Civix, these aren't Torques but they will give you an idea of what white on red looks like.
Dropped it...
Hope that helps!
