Bought a brand new civic hybrid after buying a new '07 Civic EX coupe 2 weeks ago. Been thinking about these for a long time, even when gas was at 1.80 a gallon. Now at $3.45 out here in califonia and me driving my personal car for a living, it was time. Proud to say that so far I am averaging 50 miles per gallon on the first tank, and saving a projected $165.00 a month in fuel. Yeah, yeah i'm spending $300 a month on a car payment after selling my 104K mile jetta, but for only an additional $135 a month after fuel cost savings to own this, a brand new car which needs no maintenance for a long time, I think it's a bargain.
Got it for $20,895 plas tax and license from Honda Santa Ana in CA. Factor in the $2100 tax credit and it's actually $18,795. I'm happy. If you live in Socal and want a great deal call or email Ty Trieu in internet sales. I used to sell Honda's at the dealership back in '98 and the internet is now the only way to buy a car hands down. Better pricing, up front, you can still haggle if you want by pitting internet sales quotes against each other. Funny thing is, other dealers who offered to match a lower price if I found one wouldn't match this price. Last edited by civicracer32; 01-24-2008 at 08:38 PM. |

Wow! If I could have gotten a Hybrid for that price, I definitely would have gotten it instead of my EX! Great job! The next thing to do is to apply for an HOV sticker and you're all set to cruise the carpool lanes and laugh at all the suckas for being stuck on the 405.

Bad news for people who want the HOV stickers. They are no longer issuing them. They are done. If you don't already have one on your car you lose...If you have one and it gets damaged, stolen, wears off you can get replacements. But no more new ones will be issued unless a law changes. That's why used hybrids with the stickers sell for a premium in LA, orange county, even San Diego. Where we live traffic isn't that bad and is only for several miles each way for my wife's commute.

You will get that going through traditional sales dept. Internet customers are seen differently by the dealers as a chance to increase volume, improve their allotment of cars for the future, and add to overall profitability, and increase their status as a "volume" dealer. With the internet you get detailed pricing up front without having to fill out the credit app. first. Good luck getting that the traditional way. Having sold cars for 3 different dealerships in the past, I'm surprised most dealers still choose to do business the old fashioned (high pressure, dishonesty) route. But since there's still a few suckers out there who wander onto lots on their day or night off, or who don't plan ahead, dealers can profit several thousand dollars on a new car instead of several hundred through internet sales.
