Smile ASM Si with new wheels, WedsSports (unsafe for 56K)

after about a month i've finally got these wheels on the ride. just in time too because we're starting to get great weather in TO. i was worried about rubbing but i've turned lock to lock going around in circles in both directions and didnt feel or hear anything. i've got a thumb gap from the tire to the shock which was one of my concerns. took these pics at night in the nearest well lit parking lot i can find while waiting for my mom to call me to pick her up from the nearby hospital where my dad is recovering from a triple bypass. i'll update this post later with daytime pics.

Wheels: WedsSport TC-005
Size: 17x8
Offset: +42
Colour: Gunmetal

Tires: General Exclaim UHP
Size: 225/45/17

Lug Nuts: McGard Spline Drive Lugs w/ Locking Nuts
Colour: Black Chrome
Valve Stem: McGard

these wheels and tires are such an improvement in handling. the wheels and tires are lightweight so acceleration is increased. another thing i've noticed is that braking has improved greatly.

If handling is your main concern, you should have gotten the 18" and lower profile tire..! The color and style of WedsSport TC005 matches the ASM Si very well..!

I'm hoping this as a typo!?

Smaller wheel + Larger profile tire = better handling
Larger wheel + Lower profile tire = worse handling

Anyways to the OP the wheels look nice, there not really my style but I realize its a nice quality wheel. They really remind me a lot of the '07 TL type S wheels. I think the 17's with a 45 tire look just fine. Just out of curiosity are they 7" or 7.5"?

How would larger tires increase handling on pavement? And by that I mean a larger profile tire...

smaller wheels larger tires increase acceleration. larger wheels and smaller tires increase cornering. i'm in between.

calipers, i dont know if i'll paint those. painting them wont make me stop faster so it'll be something to do later on.

i never even knew what TL-S wheels looked like until a few weeks ago. if anything TL-S wheels look like this as Weds had these wheels out for years now.

the rims are 8" wide. they weigh 15lbs, yes, very light. the rims are forged as well, so they wont crack.
