Nearing 70k

Hello members!

So my 08 Si (original owner) is approaching the 70,000 mile mark, and was wondering other than regular maintenance, what parts should I be looking to replace?

I'm worried the clutch might go out onthe way to work or something like that.
Brakes rotors seem fine.

I used search and found people replacing with exedy? Is this a street legal part? Would it last long? Couldn't find info on that.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Btw, clutch seems ok but then again I don't know what slipping clutch feels like.

Clutches don't go out all of the sudden. They will start to slip. The way you can tell is a lack of power or your rpm's will climb faster then you are accelerating.

My 07 FA5 is at 80k+ and climbing
Just replaced rotors 2 weeks ago
other than that clutch is still ... well, clutch lol - no issues there

If you just stick to the maitenance plan and treat your baby right, there shouldn't be any problems for awhile

what would you consider "treating her right?"

I believe Exedy makes our stock clutches but I'm not sure. I have that item saved in my amazon wish list for when my clutch goes out. I believe it's the one that you mentioned.

08 FA5 w/ 53k

Regular fluid changes
easy braking
not launching from a dig
warming up the car a bit before driving away
vtec at least once a day
etc

These cars are built solid and as long as you don't drive the car like a 17 year old girl it should hold up with minimal problems.

I've launched mine maybe 5 times since I got her, not going to lie.

But seems fine?

I make sure oil is changed everytime it hits 15% and got transmission fluid done at 40k.
Brake wise, I fairly good at minimizing brake use by not tailgating and speeding near lights.

Been reading about flashpro, think this is my next step.

Dude i've launched mine as well and I didn't mean to say don't do it, just do it sparingly. Yeah flashpro will make you fall in love with the car all over again lol It is pricey, but it turns on beast mode!

From what I've been reading, it's hardly going to change much?

The dyno graphs I've seen werent impressive, but then again I feel like the intake and exhaust I added isn't either, just sounds better

I do like being able to lower the engagement of vtec, is it anywhere you want? 4500 seems perfect for me as I usually don't pass 4000 rpm going to work unless I'm on the onramp.

Hmm haven't even thought of brake fluid, something they do when they change brake pads?

Never thought to ask.

Glad this forum exists!!

From what Ive seen its recommend around 50k because the fluid will degrade over time.

I would flush it for sure all you need is one of these but i would purchase 2 so you have extra fluid to top off or if you spill any -

And no they don't check it all they would do is see if your fluids are topped off.

I was going to flush many thousands of miles ago when i purchase SS lines but i have another BBK set coming in so i decided to wait but i def feel like i can use a flush for sure.
