Hey

Happy to be here with my fellow Honda folks. Just traded in my '03 GTI (premium gas was killing me) for a 2006 Civc Coupe Alabaster Silver. Took a month to get it but was worth the wait. Sweet car. Makes this gas crunch tolerable.

ok... so i drove the 6MT GTI today with 18" rims. nice interior space... definitely more roomy than the Si. engine is pretty quiet (as is the exhaust note). very nice car, but damn... 2 problems:

1. price - that's another $10K on top of the Si (im in Vancouver)
2. 6MT transmission sucks. gear changes are not as precise as the Si. i guess the clutch and the lever are not weighted enough. DSG ftw.

$10K over. That sounds high, what were the options?

Welcome to 8thcivic and congrats on your purchase :). What are your initial impressions of the car?

So far so good but only one day of driving, (went with my wife in her car to the Pats game yesterday) I like the styling and handling. I am going easy on the engine due to the break-in. I hope none of the problems that I have read about on this site don't materialize in it. I understand they are all centralized under one board but it makes me nervous. I figure it would be just my luck to trade in a VW with no issues and to get the highly touted Honda Civic and have these things pop up.
