newbie

hey fellas, just want to introduce myself. just purchased my 5th civic. 2006 Civic EX Coupe Silver AT/Navi/Aero Kit. I sold an 05 G35 Coupe to get the Civic. I didn't feel like wasting money on gas anymore.

So tell me guys where should I start with the modding? Intake, exhaust, etc., My other civics we usually just pulled the motor the first week and put in a B series. As I'm getting older I don't have the time to do that stuff anymore. Are the basics mods worth the $$$?

Pics coming soon, I've only had the car for 2 days now.....

later

i was thinking intake too but maybe just a drop in k&n. I don't see a header available yet. comptech is about 45mins away from where I live so I might cruise out there to see their supercharger. don't know if it's available for the base civic engine though....

That is a huge step to make just in the interest of saving gas. If you traded in the G35, the hit you probably took on the depreciation and trade value likely won't offset the savings in gas for quite awhile unless you do a LOT of driving.

actually I sold the G35 to carmax. I usually pay cash for my cars....so figure I spent ~$40K for my G new, then carmax gave me ~$28k so I say I only paid $12K for my G35. I'm always looking towards the future. So in the long run I think I'll be saving more.

I bought my house 3 yrs ago for only $278K. I say "only" because the last time I had the house appraised it was $485k! However the market is going down so now I don't want to look. I paid cash for the house too....no i'm not rich I rode the dotcom wave and did pretty good and got out just in time.

Thanks everyone for the welcome! I guess Honda boards have definitely changed since the late 90s when people were really imature and start bashing eachother.

Now moving on to the mod section. Gotta get me some shoes!

haha, just wait. I'm going crazy trying to pick the right wheels! this car is so much more fun to mod. The G35 was cool, but too damn expensive to mod. Having tons of fun with this 8th.
