DIY: Airbag & E-Brake parts removal... 26 pix

DISCLAIMER: the member of this post assumes no responsibility for anyone attempting to try this process... DO NOT attempt unless u have prior experience with taking interior pieces apart...

sorry i took so long but here's kinda what the process looks like... i didn't take that many pix so i can't really show each step...

i used this DIY for the headlights... CLEARING HEADLIGHTS (WITH PICS)

reference to the door panel removal... DIY Fabric Change on Doors

first thing first, to be on the safe side disconnect ur battery... for safety reasons with the airbag... VERY DANGEROUS if not done correctly...
Steering Wheel:
remove this cover with a small flat head screwdriver....

take these two torx screws off...(size 30)... this is what holds the airbag on...

remove this bolt (14mm or 17mm i forgot )to take the steering wheel off... also unplug these two to remove the airbag...

unplug the clock spring plug in blue.... aggressively tap the rear of the steering wheel towards you left, right, left, right until it comes off... it's also a good idea to mark the teeth on here so it's easy to align later... !!!IMPORTANT!!! make sure this is put back on exactly how u take it off or ur alignment will feel off...

here's what it looks like with the steering wheel off... (note the push start... )

remove these screws on the back of the steering wheels...

steering wheel apart...

remove these screws to take the buttons off...

Door Trim Panel:
cut the back of these either with a drill or a dremel tool....(that's what i used)...

then just pop off...

installing them back on with hot glue gun....

Tach:
sorry no pix on how to take this apart... but once apart it's just two little tabs holding the top part of the trim on...

e-brake... remove the bottom plastic on the e-brake then the rubber... then the little silver part has two tabs on each side... a lot easier than it looks... just don't break the tabs....

1. yellow box-take off the plastic piece 1st.
2. pink box-there's a rubber cover-thingy here you just have to slip off.
3. green box-is the actual plastic part that you see on top of the e-brake... two little push-in tabs that need to be pressed in and pull up... (please don't break these tabs, if u do just go buy a new one)

Everything:
all the parts to be painted...

a few pix of the finished interior product....

Headlights...

Just reverse the process to install....

Which product of Plasti-kote, their website lists a tonne? And was it a spray paint, any tips on the painting process? I'm seriously considering doing this over buying a stupid overlay kit off ebay that probably wont even look good
