Suedes - Butter New Red Suede Fabric
It all just depends on what style your looking for. I'm planning on going with the darker blue color. It'll be months before I get my chance, but I'll post pics. Hopefully I can pull off a nice combo using J-Ro's DIY also.

^ GL! I want to see how it looks in blue

Another thing you can do with the doors is to add 1/4" foam underneath the material and stitch it to add a "pincushion" effect, similar to the CSX. The CSX uses equally-spaced stitching, but I decided to mix it up a bit and go with a "logarithmic" effect.

I didn't use the butter suede. I just went into stores looking for red material

for the record: I read the whole thread

I love the looks of this mod, but I'd prefer to have something like the si seats, how they are kinda "jersey" style...Besides the obvious answer of looking for myself (which I will do) anyone done this?

Awesome DIY though, I'll be doing this some weekend soon enough

I assume you're looking for the jersey-style in red? Since your car's an 08, the doors should already have the jersey-style in black. Never seen anyone do it, but it would look good.

awesome, you did your own research to learn about my car.

but yeah that's what I'm looking for, the jersey style already on mine but in red. Any leads on what kind of fabric I need to be looking for? either way, this weekend I'll begin my hunt

wow thats the best door panel change i've seen yet. how awkward is the extra foam behind going to be when you put it back together?

Haha, just gotta look at the user page

Unfortunately, I really didn't do any research, I just knew in my mind what kind of material I wanted and just kept going from store to store until I found it. The jersey-style is a pretty specific type, and it will likely be difficult to find. Your best bet is probably online.

The extra foam is fine actually... it's open-cell foam so it's really squishy. You can see in the picture how the upper part of the door blends with the foam on the insert part. I didn't even have to add any more glue to glue it down onto the panel... the stuff that was left behind from the stock material that I removed was still rediculously sticky.

Any plastic paint will do, but I would reconsider paint if I were you. That panel takes a lot of abuse from the seatbelt buckle, particularly from careless passengers.

How much time would it take to get all of this done on a 4 door?

Also, on a NHBP ex sedan, what color would you guys go with? Blue, black or gray?

Clear will help. Use 3M automotive clearcoat rather than the generic stuff. It's a lot more durable, so it'll really help you in areas that take hits, like the door panel.

i think paint might be a big mistake. i'd say do it right or don't do it at all.
