^ why is there 2 tracks/supports/wire channels/whatever running to the mirror? Are they all like this? I would like to do this someday with an auto-dimming compass mirror (don't need the external thermometer, I already have it in my dash), but I don't want 2 posts running from the headliner to the mirror.

Isn't the homelink functionality (radio transmitter) built into the computer part of the mirror? That was my understanding... that the channel just provides the power.

If done right, the mirror will turn off when you turn off the ignition.

Argh, The auto dim and compass aren't working. The homelink lights came on when I pushed the button. Tried to redo the wiring, now nothing comes on. Did I blow a fuse? Anyone know which fuses to check?

Nevermind, the fuses were fine, but I still think the purple wire isn't the right one on the '08s.

Here's what mine looks like

Help anyone?

Update. The +12V battery wire is correct. I can't seem to find the 12V Accessory wire though. Probed with the multimeter too. ugh!

Come on, there's gotta be someone else with an '08 that has done this.

Thanks, I'll check that. If that's not it, would it be ok to use the white wire? I found that to be 12V constant. I hooked it up to that just to test the mirror and it works. I push the buttons and it turns off the autodim and the compass. So I could turn those off when I'm not driving so it doesn't drain the battery.

Any thoughts?
