Bill.

Did you stuff the remaining wire under the headliner? Also, did you cut before the brown adapter or after?

Stuffed it in the forward part of the headliner. It's been a while but I think I cut the brown adapter out and used T-taps to tie into the cars wire harness.

OK I must have gotten a different harness. Mine had two greens, One yellow with a fuse, one red with a fuse, a brown,a white, and a ground. How you guys got three wire one is beyond me. So I think I screwed up. I have the red going to the light blue wire with the white adapter and the white wire going to the purple with silver stripe and the black to the screw whole as the ground. Any Ideas? Cause it won't operate my garage door?

Ok i think I figured it out. The yellow is the battery +12V goes to the baby blue. The accessory +12v was red and it goes to the purple with silver.

Garrison, what kind of Civic? I have the 07 SI and was wondering if wire colors are the same as yours?

How do you remove the existing mirror mount?

This is probably an easy question but here goes. . . .

How do you remove the existing mirror mount that is currently glued to the windshield from the factory? I'm looking at the foreign mounting bracket and it says I need to glue it to the windshield

Nope. The foreign vehicle mount attaches on to the existing mount. I just did it and it's great!

FYI, the foreign vehicle bracket doesn't sit flush with the windshield. I was trying to force it. Then, I realized that it wasn't contured for the 2007 Civic SI. There should be a little space between the bracket and windshield.

Do I need to worry about draining the battery when I shut the car off? How does this work?

If installed correctly, the mirror looses power when the car is shut off. It is designed this way - and that is the correct way to install it. Even if you connected it so it was always on, it draws such little power that you would not have to worry about battery drain unless you leave your car for weeks at a time...

Anyone know how much current this thing draws? I just purchased it but don't see any electrical specs in the documentation.

Another successful installation. Thanks to everyone who provided instructions. I have 2007 Civic EX sedan. I connected mirror and Valentine 1 radar detector to purple/silver wire (+12v) and to a screw supporting map light/moonroof pod (ground). Works great.

Sweet, I have an EX sedan and nice to hear the mirror fit properly. I can't wait to get one.
