the E46 M3 has no spare tire, and now that BMW has switched to runflats, no BMW has a spare tire.

The runflats are crazy expensive tires though

yeah, you douynt have to use them to replace the OEMs though. just buy an electric pump and a temporary punture repair kit (~$30) like the one given in the M3 and buy normal tires.

No offense but this seems like a pretty useless mod especially in your case since you have your entire car lined with dynamat. What's next ripping off your side and rear view mirror for weight reduction. Why not just gut the whole console along with the airbags.

If you actually read the entire thread you would note the reasoning and the explanation. Read and understand first. As noted before, the weight of the dynamat is more than offset by the removal of the tire etc.

Removing the mirrors would be illegal and useless. The reduction would be maybe 5lbs total versus 30lbs for the tire and another 16lbs for the battery and 10lbs for the wheel swap. IF this was a race car then I would do that, however since it's not, I wanted to drop some weight, without losing its DD functionality. In addition, I have lost about 20lbs myself since buying it, so losing weight is a good thing.

Yes it can be, but still not nearly as much as the tire, etc.

depends on how much dynamat is used.

I know I put at least 30lbs in my old single cab truck...

Is it just used in the trunk, or all over the car?

I will never remove the spare, so long as the freaking Michelin factor z's are gone. They are so undependable.

dynamat is'nt something light it has a good amount of weight to it especially when you have the hole trunck covered in it, all that dynamat probobly weights just as much as the spare.

hope you have some bad asss subs in the trunk......

I buoght a bulk pack of original (39sq.ft.) and did most of my trunk and just got tired of working with it. I plan on finishing it soon so I just left the rest in the trunk to see if I could tell any difference, I have 2 amps, x over, custom flush mounted amp rack and 2 Rockford P2 10's and I dont really notice that much of a difference with them in/out. Nor could I tell a difference with the Dynamat being in the trunk.

WOW.
