Weight of the spare is 30lbs. even with all the dynamat, it isn't near that amount. I keep the wrench and jack in case I need to help someone else, although at this point I suppose I could remove it.

If someone can bring you the spare, couldn't they bring you your jack too? :)

Like other's say, I would rather leave it in there for a piece of mind. You never know when a flat will occur.

Yeah, most of my friends have keys to my storage locker (spare) or my parents house (spare 2). Oh, and peace of mind ... doesn't exist in my head.

It was the Second Skin Damplifier Pro trunk kit.

I have done this a few times, but it's easy enough to do. Just make sure it's kind of warm out and you take your time. Get the roller too, it helps.

Look for the trunk kit, it's 20 sq ft, around $85 or so. I did it in the summer so no heat guns etc. It's adhere better if it's warmer outside. It can be done in the winter, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Yes, it can be trimmed as needed. If you are doing the trunk you can use the larger pieces as they are.

Yes it is, but I have other resources. I have the ContiComfort kit (which works really well), and tires stored where I can get to them so long as I am not too far away. Outside of that, every little bit helps!

How about filling your tires with helium? wouldn't that make them lighter too?

Hey, 30 lbs is 30 lbs!!!! The Conticomfort kit, and others like it work really well. You still need the jack and tools though. Wheel should be jacked up when using the electric pump and goo!!! As soon as I get my wheels and tires on (18's) im ditching the spare as well. Save 20 lbs in lighter wheels, and 30 on a spare,.....50 lbs is a 1/2 tenth in the quarter!!
