DIY: CSX Center Console (with storage bin sliding door)

I really didn't like how the storage bin above the gear shift had no cover. Once I saw the center console from the canadian acura csx I had to have it! The color is an exact match to the dashboard, it's called gunmetal metallic. Also, the handle on the sliding door has a chrome strip. For reference, it's part# 77295-SNR-C51ZB and I ordered it from an Acura dealership in Vancouver, BC. Unfortunately it costs about $85US.

Pop off the silver shift boot trim.

Lift it up.

Tilt it and let it fall down.

Lift and pop out the center console. Then replace and pop everything back in place!

It's not the same colour though. Would it be possible just to switch the bin and use the console part from your car. Just a thought.

Hmm...been thinking about this a lot lately.

BUT...why is this CSX part almost $100, while the Honda part its replacing (77295-SNA-A51ZA) is only $10-14? Surely a sliding door and a little strip of chrome isn't worth so much.

Hmm... this would be very nice to have. Is the sliding door the same as the cup holder's sliding door? Does thi fit the coupe? Does the black one match the black interior correctly?

You can never have enough!

Haha... I'm thinking about modifying a bread basket slider to fit as my glovebox door.

I book marked his store, but I'm going to hold off on it for a bit. I have mesh coming, and parts from momo and an engine cover from japan, so I need to take it easy for a bit.
