Ya, I noticed that too when I got it. It might just be to increase the flow of air around the MAF. The piping may be so large that there isn't as much air flow and so there needs to be a bottle neck to increase the cfm around the sensor...I could also just be talking out my butt

OH that is freakin sick! Its officially out now for us 1.8 R18 Coupes? Bad ass. Does this work for both auto and manual transmissions?

4 Hours, smooth as butter. Took tons of pics. I'll post some later. It's now 3:30am and as soon as that engine hits the 15 minutes idle marker I'm off to bed.

I can't go to sleep without posting at least one pic. I don't know when I'll get back here this weekend. I do most of my surfing at work. But I promise I'll try again tomorrow. And to clear one thing up, the pipe is 3" on one side and 2.5" on the other, seperated by the MAF sensor.

Install instructions on left, and tomasro's very useful DIY on the right.

Repositioning

I believe you are correct about that. That is why you most lekly won't experience any of the drivability problems that some people with the AEM CAI have been having. Looks great BTW!

CAI's for everyone!!! Autoanything has both, and so does nipponpower. But you have to do a little more research on autoanything to find the best deal. Best I found was $200 for the R18, and $255 for the K20
