living in NY im pretty sure you are fine from the heat... Florida/Georgia/Texas/Arizona heat is probably what these companies are referring to. Northern people dont understand heat just like southerners like me dont understand COLD!

Whats the Florida/Georgia boys gettin on their cars? im in GA and interested

Does anyone have a link to a "how to" bumper removal. Or are the instructions that come with the injen cai suffecent enough to figure it out.

just interested in sound

guys- don't care about HP gains so this is not a CAI vs. SRI which has more HP question.

Rather I just want that cool sound.

Seems like the K&N typhoon would meet my needs, no. So I am asking can the typhoon give me some of the great sounds I have been hearing out of the both the CAI/SRI videos on youtube?

BTW- I am a totally noob at this and middle aged. Coming from muscle car era so 4 cylinder Hondas are new to me- trying to learn step by step.

thx

The Injen CAI I had on my first Si sounded bad ass. Even a lot the muscle cars drivers at the ATL speedway thought so too. That was 2 years ago though, I don't know how much has changed concerning intakes.

reading this made me so much more confused as to what i should be looking into, i just mainly wanted my car to sound better hahahah but now im reading get CAI risk your car sucking in water, get SRI risk your car suffering from heat soak but then get a cover or something and prevent both things from happening??? which made me more confused lol........

Basically i've been looking into this only to make my car sound a bit sexier lol so now im really not sure which direction i should be looking towards i own a 2006 Honda civic DX and i do plan on putting rims on down the road and lowering it if thats matters. Basically after intake im planning on changing the headers and exhaust, but figured id start with this.

Anways what you guys thinks going to sound better but keep my car from gettin raped from heat or water.........

please bare with me i dont know alot about cars and how all these things work so im hoping to slower understand how everything comes together. thank you

Hey everyone. I am totally new with this all. (With this form and owning a Honda)

I just bought a 2007 Honda Civic SI with the 2.0 Vtec. I was wondering what would be the best air intake to get for it?? After reading all of the privous posts I see there is a lot to pick from. So if someone could give me some advice or some more info on a couple different ones. That would be awesome.
Thank-You

A local BC boy.

The choice for you, is do you want to risk Hydrolock with a CAI? or be safe, with less HP with a SRI?

For CAI, I would go injen or AEM.

For SRI I would go K&N.

What about the CT-E intake?? People say good things about it but its basically just a blue sponge and a heat shield for quite a bit of $$$ But then again they claim 8whp...
Im still undecided between CT-E and K&N

Answer: Yes. A short ram pulls in the hot air from the engine bay resulting in some degree of heat soak, although I think this will be debated until the end of time.
Incorrect. A properly tuned SRI will not experience any bogging.
