I always wanted the Injen CAI, but then I ended up getting the Fujita SRI. I think it sounds wonderful and I know that there is a gain because it pulls much harder across the RPM band. I regularly drive my car on the same route with the same shifting and accelerating patterns and I definitely feel a gain.

My experience will be CAI, but if you live in area that often rains heavily, then better to go with SRI. Once the engine gets hot, your SRi will start sucking in hot air, but you can always get a heat-shield to keep your SRI cooler (which i have tried, doesn't work too well).
For decent I/H/E, you will probably be looking at $900 to $1.2k, depends on the brand you are going for.

Some of them suggest you to use their soaking formula, and AEM or Fujita ask you to soak the filter into the water for 10 to 15 mins and let it dry up and install it back on. For most of the K&N filter, they recommend you to wash it with water and dry it up, then use their oil filter kit that they sell in the market.
From my past experience, i have washed an AEM and k&n filters and they take a day to fully dry up, maybe i was too paranoid, but i won't take any chance. Best bet is to get another filter for backup, just in case you really cannot wait to go out.

Injen is the one i was referring to use their cleaner kit.

Here is some info:
Injen -

To be honest, i would go with AEM dryflow or Fujita F5, both of them do not require re-oil. Simple water soaking, dry out and slap it back on.

Is it safe to install a CAI on a brand new Si with 300 miles?

It's good, not too low at all! I'm just trying to find what Hydrosock fits the AEM CAI for our car.

The instructions say it's a 3x5 dryflow filter. Anyone running a hydrosock on their AEM CAI? I know it's been done I just can't find what size we have to use (M/L/XL/XXL).

I don't know, I heard the Injen CAI doesn't require it, but some say it does.

It's not that scary at all, at least for the AEM. Sure, there is a alot of taking out (stock airbox) but not a whole lot of putting back in.

As for cutting the wheel well liner, I was a bit intimidated by that but the material is soft plastic and an Exacto knife cuts through it like butter. Just make sure to bolt/snap-screw everything back on cause I forgot the two screws on the front for the little flaps that hang down in front of the front wheel... and yeah.. it got tore up on the highway and eventually I just cut that part off. Nothing noticable, but yeah, FYI.

I was thinking about a AEM but some say there are problems. So really im not really sure what i should buy. I have a 06 Si coupe.
