Is it really worth it to spend money on an intake? Honda already fitted us with a CAI on our Z3's... I bought a K&N drop-in a few months ago, and I guess what I'm asking is is it best to stick with that or really go for a whole new intake? Do you guys really notice a big improvement over our stock intake?

i didn't have to cut my wheel well, either. i just needed to cut a small hole to the left of the wheel well so that i could fit the intake tube to reach where the resonator box used to be so the filter could go there i just cut a small hole where the bumper meets the splash guard (making sure that i didn't cut where the two connected) and i left the part closest to the wheel. that way i can get some cold air coming up the underside of the bumper, and if the wheel were to splash through a puddle, it would hit the part of the splash guard closest to the wheel and not soak my filter i'll take some pictures of it and post them soon if anyone's interested |

ok..., so here's what happened...
It was poring rain here in south west wisconsin, and i could barly see out my windshield. well, i'm still driving, slow that is, and i completely didn't see a MASSIVE puddle. well, i drove right through it and my car started to sputter, then died. it's still on that road. i called the tow company and they towed it to their shop. basically, am i just screwed, or is there a possibilty that is can still be fixed?? i am a college student, so if "being fixed" mean's a whole new motor, then i'm just screwed...! thanks for the help, i really app. it!

thats why i'm so pissed and worried. I thought the whole purpose of the bypass valve was to prevent hydrolock. maybe it's just the quality of my whole cai.
