Anyone here have any experience with the K&N drop-in filter for our civics?

I put one in the next week after I got my car. When revving the car in neutral you can def hear it sucking more air than before. It also improves MPG, but not by much

I have had mine for awhile now and havent had any issues. You get a little better throttle response and you dont have to worry about replacing it.

I had mine too.

There is a topic around in where a user compared an aftermarket intake vs the Drop In Box with the resonator removed. And he manage to get better results with Drop In in a dyno.

Maybe he wasn't that good with Flash Pro or other unknown factors.

But many people are prefering the stock intake over an aftermarket with n/a setups.

Not sure you will see any power gain from running one, but they are more convenient than having to constantly replace oem filters.

It's cleanable/reusable so in 2 years you'll get in your money but don't expect any gain, just like OEM filter.

I had one for about a week, absolutly no difference at all a compleat waist of money. Got a Takeda short ram intake off Procivic.com. Big time improvement you can really feel and hear!

I just installed one on my R18 (2006 EX coupe) one morning and car ran fine that night, didn't notice much difference. Then the next morning when I started it up, it was very loud. More so in the cabin then outside. While driving it gives a loud drone on low RPM and car felt different and on reverse it is LOUD and idling rough. I put the old filter back and it sounds and acts the same.

I read though the forum and people say to perform an ECU reset and do a idle relearn. Did that and no change.

Anyone know what it could be or experience this issue when installing a drop in K&N filter?

It's not the filter if u put the old one In and it's still doing it. Make sure u got the top of the air box sealed back down right and make sure the hose is connected properly to the back of the air box.

I double checked everything and is sealed up tight. Any other suggestions?

Check all hoses and plugs running to the tb
After that try the idle relearn again.
Unplug batt for 20 min
Put key in II position for 2-3 sec
Make sure all electronics are off
Hold throttle at 3k rpm until fan comes on
Let idle for 10-15 then turn off

Hope it works

If you remove the resonator you will feel an improvement in air flow. It does work well if you have the basic bolt ons but if you are planning to install Cams, bigger IM and TB, I recommend you to get a CAI

Just put one in my 2007 ex coupe earlier today, did the relearn procedure and everything seems fine. I'm working the overnight so I'll post what happens tomorrow morning.

Mine is still running fine. Did you hit a big pothole while you were testing it that night? Maybe just try to do the idle relearn procedure again. I'm not even sure if I did mine right. I couldn't tell when the fans kicked on. I'm gonna have another person listen from the outside.

After more research, I found the issue was not because of the filter, it was the passenger side hydraulic engine mount that went bad (known issue on the civic) causing the vibration and exhaust leak sound . It was just a coincidence that it happened the day after I installed the K&N. The engine mount was replaced and everything is back to normal again. Thanks for everyone's help.
