Will i have the same problem even if i buy an intake from a good brand? Thanks for your help.

Carl.
Do you have a SI or an LX .
I had the same thing happen to me. I went with the K&N and love it. I don't have any more problems and it sounds great at wot.

Fujita makes a CAI for the r18. Irrelevant info though.

import dps cai with battery locator is the best intake.

if you dont want to spend 500 bucks on an intake the injen cai would be the 2nd place intake. IMO.

Almost true, but not entirely. The Go Power and "Rick's" intakes are nearly identical, but the Go Power CAI has a mounting bracket attached which eliminates a few of the movement/vibration issues I've heard people have with the Import DPS intake. As far as performance goes I'm sure they're pretty much the same.

haha, i didnt even know go-power had an intake like rick's. go-power is awesome, I'd much rather spend my money there, even if the intakes are nearly identical.

do you have any pics of the intake? I cant find it on their website??

No pics at the moment, but I'll try and take a few after I run a few errands. The Go Power intake might be a custom order only type of thing. The 8ther I bought my current Si from gets credit for all the impressive parts I'm driving around with.

cool! I am going to have to call them about that.

currently I am running stock TB and injen cai. I have heard nothing but good things about people jumping to the s2 or j35 tb and a 3.5" import dps intake, people say they are getting almost a 20hp increase over a standard cai, like the injen, in s/c applications

My suggestion to you would be to avoid the Skunk 2 tb at all costs. It's a POS that could potentially put people in dangerous situations. My car came with one and due to a lack of money, I'm stuck with it (the second unit I've used since buying this car BTW)for a while. Depending on how far you're going with your build, I would suggest the 2010 Acura TL-S AWD throttle body. It's 80mm on the intake side and tapers down to 70mm (I think) on the intake manifold side. Of course to really make use of that TB you'd need cams/FI/ported or aftermarket IM/ a bigger intake/Flashpro/tuning/etc...

I am pretty much done. I have a c/t supercharger w/ 3.15 pulley with the modified injectors k series injectors.

I believe that TB will bolt right up as long as you have the larger coupler if I continue to use the injen cai.

since those massive intake are so expensive I prob wouldn't do both intake and tb at the same time.

The amount they charge for those intakes is a joke. It pisses me off that they charge 300-400 bucks for them.

Do you guys realize the cost of materials for them to make those is about 50 bucks?

I pricing building my own at 150 bucks... and that's without ANY hookups on material costs.

I paid like 230 for my injen Sri back over a year ago. And now I paid 275 for my Rick spec'd intake AND catch can. And you don't evn have to have the catch can which would drop the price even more. IMO that's not bad.

It's 275 on the site for the intensity intake and catch can package. And yes I got the kit from him for 80 and relocated my stock battery
