Which do you guys say i should do a RRC MANIFOLD OR SKUNK2 MANIFOLD? with iether one i choose ill prolly do a skunk2 throttle body also! i think having a skunk2 manifold an skunk2 throttlebody is the way to go ?
So a RBC Intake Manifold with a hybrid throttle body ? what site can i get that from the throttle body i mean , an i have i/h/e/pullies/throtle body spacer/flashpro base map
There was a dyno shootout saying that ported RBC intake from Blueprint made good gains under the curve, but didn't increase max gains at all. The Skunk2 and RRC increased max gains.
if you are going for top end power, Skunk2 and RRC are where it's at for you. If you plan on keeping DBW, get the RRC, port match it to a 70mm TB and call it a day.
Exactly what 2point said! I have freinds with the ported RBC and they make power no doubt! But as im gonna do and gave much much thought to Hybrid throttle body port matched to a RRC manifold is the beast of all choices. I spoke to John from Hytech about this as well. They said a port matched rbc to a 70mm throttle body = great gains. A port matched RRC to a Hybrid throttle body will give even better. Im sure either way is going to be a win but at then end of the day having a type r manifold mated up to the Hybrid is gonna unleash the most power thruout.
so a RRC manifold???? an do u think by getting a hybrid throttle body or skunk 2 ill notice a difference rather than jus get a new manifold like rrc an call it a day ? should i even bother buying a throttle body if i have a spacer
Does Blue Print send me the rbc manifold thats upgraded an i bought for 500? an i can send them in my stock one on my car an recieve 200 dollars back??????
wnedrun: dude, read their website, email them, call them or pray to heavens. The last thing you need to be doing is asking this question here and expect an answer back... .
The RRC is found on the greater 8th gen the Civic Type R(FD2). We have the RBC stock in ours which is a great and can be greater if bored and port matched to a nice throttle body. Look at the article found in Super Street it goes back a couple months ago i beleive. They put all k series manifolds to the test from PRBs to bored Blueprints and Skunks. To my surprise the RRC stock untouched made the best power all around up and down. Skunk and bored blueprint rbc did well too.
thats what im gonna run to rrc manifold with a hybrid racing 70mm throttle should with a full race 3" exhaust. that will replace my vibrant cat-back. should give me even better numbers. where can i get hybrid tbody
RRC goes roughly for 400.00. Hybrid throttle body from Hybridracing.com but not until there released in month or so. Good plan crazycurt84 i have vibrant exhaust as well. Thats getting swapped soon for the full race and will be going with RRC mated to a Hybrid throttle body. Should see some nice gains with that.
Make sure the RRC has the apportioning for your setup, some thing are different, and someone did a test and i think it really didnt do much for the cost, i would do skunk.
thanks, i figured hell i want more power outta my car and since i dont wanna go f/i cause n/a is the best way to go lol. i will start saving and get everything 2gether throw it all on and then back out to evans tuning again lol
something is fishy, compare graph K7 to K16, The cams essentially did nothing.
We have no idea how they tuned each setup or if they tuned them at all.
the best data is to see each setup fully tuned to see the max potential that way no one can say, well if you would have tuned it, or used this exhaust instead, this setup would get you the best results.
Do an open header with extension and let the tuning games begin...
I like the peak gain data up top but I still don't know if that is due to special tunning. I will believe that the intake flows better at those RPMs though.
I really like this graph Skunk2 Racing: K-Series Data Is In
but yet again I don't know if there is special tunning involved. And also don't think you can really use this graph as a comparison on anything but a highly modded motor setup with stroker kit, high compression and cams.. .
pretty sure you could likely take away from this graph Skunk2 Racing: K-Series Data Is In
that the RBC manifold holds power down low better than the RRC when using the other graphs as input.
SUPER STREET DATA: Note they didn't use the same TB on each manifold b/c not each manifold was port matched to a big ol 70mm. SKunk neglected to mention if they had the RRC or RBC port matched to accept the 70mm TB properly
In addition to the shootout, I thought it would be proper to test out different sized throttle-bodies. But as it turned out, not every manifold was match-ported to 70mm. I had my stock 62mm Type-R t/b ported by Maxbore, which became 64mm tapering out to 70mm - similar to a K-series Spoon ported throttle-body. Blox Racing donated one of their new billet 70mm t/b for the shootout. Rob luckily had a ported Accord t/b which was originally 60mm, but was Maxbored to 62mm tapering out to 64mm (not shown). The Accord t/b was used on manifolds that were not match-ported to anything larger than 62mm - this included the BPR RBC and Endyne ported RBB manifolds, and were a direct bolt-on affair, no need for a throttle-body adapter plate! Excluding the stock RBC, all other manifolds were opened up to 70mm.
RRC data: custom tune and using 2 differet TBs to max out performance
Once installed with 64mm throttle-body and using the tuned Skunk2 calibration, baseline run produced 214.3whp/144.81tq. Erick worked his magic and reworked fuel/ignition timing/and cam angle and power gradually increased up to 223.9whp/148.9tq.
This was the best he could tune with the 64mm t/b. We moved onto the 70mm t/b and power was almost identical to the 64mm t/b except top-end power falls earlier right around 8500rpm. Erick played with fuel and cam angle some more and hit 226whp/150tq while fixing top end loss! He felt he could get a little more cowbell from this manifold and in the final pull was able to hit 228.5whp/152.6tq -- just amazing!
BTW, I'm an Engineer and I know how to setup design of experiements fairly well. Maybe Skunk2 didn't do any tuning and just slapped parts on. That would be a fairly good DOE but doesn't represent the true capabilities of each setup. and if you are a determined person with money, you are going to go after those nuggets (tunning, port matching TB to manifold and so on.. .)
i gotch vantage thanks alot appreciate it jus got one more question true that doing 410cc injectors would make a good gain u think or no?
