I have it on, it's pretty cheap material.

It should be $10, 30 is wayyy too much for something like this.

Yes. I had it on my car. I really don't think it does much more than let the owner/driver feel a little less nervous about driving in rain.

this hydroshield really works. I tested it when i got it. I took it to the sink and let the water flow on it and it basically repels the water from going through. It is really interesting on how injen did this. it is basically 99% blockage of water and 100% free flowing for air. it is a true protector against hydrolock. buy it and do the sink test and you'd be amazed.

there called pre-filters i dono why they call them hydro shields or whatever its k&n makes them all they do is deflect most dirt and water nothing special. if you run it through a puddle it will still suck water up. all this does is help deflect water that might slpash on the filter

also if it got submerged in water the water would just suck around where the scrunchy part is. its not a perfect seal fyi

Yeah if you are submerged in a puddle up to the filter your gonna be in trouble. If water splashes on it hits it, or gets sprayed on it you will be fine. Like i said i put my hand in the hydroshelid ran it under the sink at different forces and my hand stayed dry. So for what it is it works. Its added protection it will keep you filter cleaner and give you some peice of mind.

I don't know about it being a "true protector against hydrolock" though. If you hit a deep enough puddle you're screwed. The Hydro Shield is a great preventative measure though. I'm using one on my cowl induction intake.

lemme tell you, i thought it wasnt worth it to get one, but when i got the injen cai, i noticed that when i go to automatic carwashes or spray wash places, the water goes through the headlight assembly, not inside headlight, and get onto the filter and into the tube...i almost had hydrolock once and thats why i bought the hydroshield, it was a really good investment for any cai. its pretty rare to hit a puddle as high as the cai area, most likely if that happened, your car is flooded.

Got one on my AEM. Bought it off Amazon. Just measure the size of your intake filter and proceed from there

nope if you have a stock intake, its taking in air from the top of engine bay and its very well protected from water

I have them on my CAI and I would say that they are ok for keeping water from going through. But $30 for it isnt such a good deal I would say.
