Give them your 8thcivic username during the purchase to get a $50 sponsor discount.

EDIT: $499 for the Intake+Relocater Kit+New Oddesy Battery.
Then the $50 off makes it $450.

^absolutely no difference performance wise. Kevlar just has a shade of yellow.

From what I've heard/read, the kevlar is slightly stronger (not in power but in construction/sturdiness).

I'll try and find the guy I quoted my info from, but it's just hear-say.

EDIT2:
From browsing a couple forums on the internet (mostly sailing for some reason) I've come to the not-so-solid conclusion that the kevlar is stronger but slightly heavier than the carbon fiber... negligible in this case really.

One thing I glanced over said that motorcycle helmets cannot be full CF (because it "cracks on contact") so it is often reinforced with kevlar to make it stronger.

thats what i figured. although i can see how the construction of the kevlar could be a little bit stronger due to the fact that i wear a kevlar vest to work every day and hope to god its strong enough to do its job.

i understand where your coming from but id like to point out the INSANE amount of people who complaine about the si being slow or torque-less and blah blah blah. . . the new si is the best si ever made by honda with out a doubt. ANYONE who knows what honda is about will agree with that point. those of us who knew EXACTLY what we were getting when we bought our cars are perfectly happy with them and i still get butterflies everytime i start mine up. . . there is a HUGE difference in spending money on a product that you have researched and KNOW will produce results compared to throwing money at parts based solely on "reputation". you are BEGGING to be disappointed with such a mindset. . .

imo i want to see some of this " 2 years worth of R&D" done to design this intake . . . you would think that with so much research done there would be TONS of info floating around about this intake (specifically for the si, we all know what it did for the s2000 and rsx but face the facts, we dont have either of those cars 1. and 2. this intake was designed from scratch so it would stand to reason that its characteristics and behaviors will be different)

Ha, yeah me too back a couple years ago. But I did have the thought that maybe if some one shot my car, they could hit my PC and if it was kevlar I could have my engine. Unless they shot it with a 82A1 .50 cal.....
