FODOSI's EBAY CAI REVIEW!!!!

ok so i just recently bought a CAI from MQTAUTOPARTS off ebay and figured i would go ahead and post my review for you people on the fence.

here is the link to the intake:

06 07 08 Honda Civic SI 2.0 2.0L L4 Cold Air Intake A:eBay Motors (item 110401541480 end time Jul-11-09 16:18:31 PDT)

for starters, to my suprise the intake came with everything that was pictured in the auction(my last ebay intake didnt). overall the quality is very good. all screws, hoses, clamps, and coupler were all there.

the directions that came with the kit are garbage(which is to be expected).....so please follow the DIY when installing!

the install went pretty smoothly, the only problem i had was that i ran into clearance issues with the coupler off the TB and the coolant hose( which was solved by cutting .5in off the coupler)

after the install was complete, i let the car idle for about 15min to see if any CEL came on and to see how it idled.........no CEL's and the car idled the exact same as my DIY sri

after the car idled i went to see what kind of gains i could feel on the butt dyno........i didnt notice much in the lower RPM's but once vtec hit it was a whole new ball game!!!! it seemed to pull harder in every gear than my previous intake

after the car ride i went to see how hot the intake tube was and to my suprise it wasnt hot at all!!!!!!!!!! heatsoak was the main reason for this purchace, and so far it has exceded my expectations!

overall this intake was well worth the $63 shipped that i paid! so if any of your guys are on the fence about getting a ebay intake i say go for it!!!!!

did you ever consider that the filter it comes with may not be the best quality? when it comes to what's being sucked into my car, i prefer to have peace of mind.

just sayin.

if it's no more of a risk than a more expensive filter, why bother buying an apex'i one?

because the apex'i filter has been dyno proven to give you the most hp out of any other filter! so it couldnt hurt to try it out

My friend has had an ebay intake for almost 2 years with no problems......
they are really good..... Its just a pipe, for example you buy an AEM intake you're just buying the brand cause its just a regular pipe....

Yeah just get a good filter tho......
