For those with AEM CAI and CEL

It's possible AEM may be offering a solution for the CELs. I was browsing the AEM Forum on their website and came across this thread:

http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php?topic=17967.0

So, I guess you can e-mail that guy and let him know your problems, since a bunch of people on the AEM Forum with R18s are saying they're throwing CELs.

Sorry if this is old news, but thought I'd try to help those that have CELs and haven't switched to Injen yet. hehe.

Interesting, the first guy that replied to the thread is throwing off the same code as me - P0171 (System Too Lean (Bank 1)).

Well, I'm glad AEM is escalating the issue, but it's a bit too late. My Injen CAI is coming in tomorrow and I'm putting that bad boy in. So far, Kurt and I have made the jump.

I've also signed off with this site, so perhaps they'll make the trip over to get some better communication. I'm just glad the dude in charge of communication on their boards isn't the same dude taking care of the tech support line - option #3 or extension 201 - Yes, I've called into his extension that much and heard his voicemail THAT many times.

Too bad I found that thread a little too late. Lots of views so far, so hopefully people with the AEM CAI are getting help.

Hey, where did you have your car scanned at? I tried the same thing a FEW times and I can never get the scanner to read anything off my car at all... wtf?

Just a local shop using some ordinary ODBII scanner. Have you tried getting Honda to scan it to see what's up? How many places have you tried to scan it?

You had it too?

As bad as it is, I think the people affected by the problem have to be patient. So there's no real course of action we can really take... I wouldn't get my hopes up too much. I really wonder what AEM can do if they find the problem, recall hundreds of intakes or ship out replacements? RMAing the product will be out of the question for most people. The time to take out the CAI, put back in the stock airbox, ship it out, wait for a return one is just obscurd... so I'm very curious what they're thinking right now.

I tried it first at autozone with the free scanners they loan out, it was OBDII tho, and it said there was a connection error or something, I figured it was just f*cked up, then I took it to an actual shop, and had em scan it with like a $2000 scanner, and it couldnt get a read either... As far as I know, im the only one with this problem. But I think if I take it to Honda, theyll probably just nicely tell me to f*ck off cuz I bought an aftermarket part... wouldnt they?

Depends on the dealership or the tech serving your car. The techs at the dealership I go to are members of the local Honda club.. so they're really cool with modified cars. Anyways, just drive down there and ask. It won't hurt!

i almost garuntee that your throwing the same code ass all of us, "too lean". i bought a sensor thing that plugs in under the dash about a year ago when my brothers car started throwing codes like everyother day. it was only like 150-200 USD but it works great. got it at auto zone.
