Well theoretically, you don't really need to remove the fog light. But for ram-air effect, you do. Depending on how many dyno runs we do, I'll see if we can do a little experiment:

Pull 1 - Stock OEM intake (baseline run)
Pull 2 - T1R intake with open fog light hole
Pull 3 - T1R intake with closed fog light hole

We'll see how much dyno time we have...

I'd actually dyno the stocker last if you want to be sure the t1r offers "good" gains. The car is going to make more power regardless throughout the 1st-3rd runs.

Or maybe u can run the stock intake 2-3 times for a solid baseline, then install the t1R for a few.

All that being said, if your first run is the only baseline, this whole thing will be ridiculed to hell and back... and I for one am not in the mood for more i-arguing if it can somehow be avoided.

What about the whole "ECU learning" that takes place. I think since you had the intake on your car all this time, you should do a few pull with it, THEN install the stock pieces and do a base line after resetting the ECU. I hope that makes sense

how does this compare to the mishimoto short ram?

mishimoto is CF and sounds SICK.. and was only 155 bucks shipped. Seen 1 dyno but people didnt think it was real. So I dont know if i do either. But i bought it had I FLY ON PEOPLE. no joke. and it scares people who get in it. THey think i have done something crazy to my car. I love my intake.

the T1R looks INSANE!! wayyyyy more on the high end side. I wanna hear this thing in person and c atleast 1 good dyno. I dont mind spending some extra cash to have flashy that performs just aswell if not better... and its gotta sound like my mishimoto...

dont get me wrong tho.. i WILL BUY THIS THING IF IT DOES WHAT I WANT IT TO DO!!!

The mishimoto intake is an SRI, the T1R is CAI that uses the stock SI intake system but replaces the resonator with a wide mouth scoop that sucks in colder ambient air. The system also replaces the stock lid on the air box with a carbon fiber lid which is said to be 20%-30% larger. (more air, more power, improved throttle response). I've already ordered the T1R system it will be in this week but we're all waiting for dyno result's.
