Check your mounting bracket possibly.

5. more pressurized-bigger intake, then pipe get's smaller at the maf...maf reads more pressure??...the bigger again, then smaller right at the throttle body...map reads more pressure??best way i can explain...i'm tired
6. bolt in a better place than the aem...thus allowing it clearance from metal wall, but then u have to cut the splash guard...aem i cut my splash guard and it still hit the wall...so then i put foam in between it and the wall to stop the vibration noises.
7. the butt dyno doesn't lie.....in this case it's not just the butt dyno, it's the back dyno also..i can actually feeeeel the car pull now...

8. IT'S NOT JUST A PIPE...if it was i'd have made my own and so would every body else...don't think honda would do all that to their intake system either if just a pipe could have done the job...FLOW/VELOCITY etc etc: it can do a lot of different things...like cause hesitation in one pipe and none in another...so it's not just a pipe....ever seen the aem v2(can't be used on Si)...is uses sound waves and air flow to create power(i think)....it's not just a pipe.

Please post a dyno. Your review is a waste of time without numbers. And please do not link to the dyno on the Injen site.

Also, don't just post one dyno of your current setup, or two dynos that are completely different with tons of other mods done, like deleting your cat. Just a simple before and after would do a world of good for this site.

Damn, where have the manners gone? Not everyone has time or money to do a dyno before and after every single mod! At least he took the time to write up his impressions of it. I agree with your point, but you really need to find better ways of expressing yourself, especially since you've contributed, what, a whole 3 posts... and 2 of them are asking for people to 'step up' and post dynos??? How about for your next post, you show us before and after dynos of a mod you've done? Contribute before complaining....

Maybe you didn't look at the original post date. Since this time his car was dyno'ed and showed no gain from the Injen CAI...

keeping track ... mods + dyno numbers

I think he's saying that one dyno would be the best. I don't think he means one after every single thing.

There's so many things wrong with that. Doesn't have time? But has time to test it and write a review about it. Doesn't have money? Have you seen his car(s)? They look pretty damn sweet, and you definitely need some dinero to get them to where they are. But in any case, he did post a dyno somewhere else it seems.

I apologize if I came off sounding like an ass, but I am understandably frustrated that I can find relatively few dynos after scouring this forum. Numbers don't lie, and they by far are best at serving the mod community.

You can be sure that once I have found ample evidence that a mod is worthwile, I will try it, and will provide whatever data I can in my review.

Thanks for this link, I hadn't found this before. It seems pretty clear that based on his dynos, the Injen CAI produced zero gains. In fact, in that thread, he says:

"don't know what to make of this ... but it seems that money is well spent on the spacer and gaskets and keeping the stock box ...
there's obviously no real difference in adding the CAI after those mods ... and the numbers do not lie ... apart from the car sounding louder/more aggressive i cannot tell a difference in performance down low, midrange or uptop ..."

So why, then, the does he say this in the first post of this thread:

"WOW....WOW....WOW...though not everyone can expect to feel it like i did....the power difference is one that u cannot ignore...it's not slight! It's there and very noticeable..."

and...

"which leads me to this being the reason the injen is that much more powerful in the mid range.

injen 11hp and 11tq roughly"

Care to explain, sickyute?

how about u look at the link ... see there's mods etc etc ... on a 07 civic si sedan ...

then take a look at this thread u are in right now and see that it's related to a 06 civic Si coupe with a greddy exhaust ... stock engine wise ...

then check everything ... and u'll see it's basically apples and oranges u are trying to compare ...

FYI ... cai's make power on stock cars or untouched motorwise ... people don't like them cuz of the extra baggage they come with (bog, rich/lean, etc)... it's basically a trade off somewhat ...

in the order of my last dyno .. the CAI was last thing i did and did nothing power after the mods i already had on there....

see the difference?

I just bought my '06 si, bone stock with nothing on it. First mod i do is the Injen CAI that i bought from someone here on the forums. I used to have an '02 civic ex with 20A2 swap, and i had the Injen SRI on it, didn't help much but i did like the intake, go figure...it's short ram. Anyways, I trust Injen more and i like how they look and sound, as for the SI, i felt a big difference right away, and it's the only mod i have, not even a reflash. So my advice for everyone...Injen CAI.

So essentially, you're saying that if you add the TB spacer & gaskets and the IMG, all of which would total up $-wise to significantly less than the Injen CAI, they will produce hp gains which cannot be improved upon with a CAI.

Being that your sedan and civic have the exact same engine, I don't see how it's "apples and oranges," nor how you could possibly give such a gleaming review of this intake from your ass dyno on a different car when your previous dynos showed that for $/hp, the spacer/gaskets are a better choice. If you had another dyno that showed some more numbers, you could easily prove me wrong... so there's your incentive.

I don't think there's a fujita cai for our car. I haven't seen it.

If you had
1. ur first paragraph is accurate to an extent ... they will proved HP over the WHOLE rpm range! HP and torque from bottom to top ... more USEABLE power and not just top end like a CAI .. they will also end up being cheaper and they will not cause low rpm bog, rich or lean conditions, stutters etc ...

2. to refer to the first paragraph ... they CAI man probably make gains with a lil tuning .... but u can't tune right now so u run rich and there are no extra gains ... that's what the dyno said.

3. my sedan and civic? li think u meant sedan and coupe... yes they are th same car with the same motor ... but most importantly DIFFERENT mods .... different mods will produce different results. u can't compare a spacer to a cai ... that's apples and oranges ...

4. the coupe is an 06 ... stock ... check the date of th thread ... u'll see how old it was ...
the sedan was an 07 not stock , check the date of the thread and u'll see how recent it is ... the 2 cars cannot be compared cuz one was stock + cai and the other was modded + cai ... so the results will be different ..

5, i had a dyno of my coupe with just the cai ... it was good for about 10 hp and i can't remember how much torque over my stock dyno ... it was a dyno i did before i put the ajp turbo, much like a baseline ... but there's no denying it makes power, it also comes with a series of hiccups that u can feel if u were in tune with ur car before the install of the cai ...

6. search ... there's plenty of intake dynos on here ....

Why didn't you just post this dyno in your review? If you had, we would all have seen the gains, and congratulated you on an excellent analysis.
