injen sri installed... questions help plz

So installed my SRI a few days ago and I have a few questions for those of you who might've installed any kind of intake on there car or the same one.

What do you guys do with that brass piping connected to the throttle body? I just pulling one side out and coolant was gushing so I just ended up reconnecting it but does it just dangle between your intake?

When you guys are starting from a stop and start moving do you here like a Pssss Pssss sound? I'm not sure if I'm leaking air or not or this is suppose to sound like this.

Plz advise Thanks.

Post some pics of what you did, or didn't do. Or refer to the other intake DIYs and look at the multitude of instructions including the set that came with your intake and try to figure it out. Are you sure the piece you are referring to is called a "brass piping"?

From what I remember about the coolant hose is that you get one hose, the long skinny one. It connects to where the old coolant hose connected. Using the same clips to hold it on.

Where did you go wrong? What I mean to say is I'm trying to figure out how you didn't follow the directions and decided to just reconnect the old hose, and leave it dangling.

Secondly, did you tighten all your connections. Did you make sure that the new pipe is inserted fully? Can you double check? What about having a friend rev your car while you have your head under the hood? Can you identify the region where the sound comes from?

P.S. When you are under the hood with the car on, please don't stick your hand in to the fan.

Hey buddy I just installed my SRI too a few days ago. I know what your talking about...the little black hose that they sent to you should go back into the one that you pulled off.

Also, bud the metal brass doesnt stay in car either bud. take it off completely.

yea, you panicked a little...leaking a bit of coolant won't hurt any. you needed to swap in the rubber hose that came with the intake otherwise you got the ugly brass thing flopping around.

Thanks guy I appreciate the reponses.. damnit I gotta find that rubber hose then cuz that brass colored pipe is ugly just hanging around.

Ya I looked at the instructions for one second and was like they couldn't even print this out in color for me? The pictures were horrible not sure how yours came. I figured it's just a damn intake I can do without.

Can someone post a close up pic of there intake so I can see how it looks?

So none of you make that Pss Pss sound when starting from first gear? I think I might leaking air...

Yea, the silicone elbow touches the radiator hose. Nothing to worry about, they won't hurt one another. If your worried about it you could get some silicone tape to rap around the radiator hose if you wanted.

One thing you guys might want to do......i noticed i was getting a vibration in my pedals. I noticed the filter on the SRI was touching the mastercylinder and vibrating all the way through the foot pedals. Again, not a big deal but i loosened the clamp holding the elbow and intake together and the vibra-mount up by the filter. I fandangled it a little and adjusted it so i have a good 3/4" space between the filter and the master cylinder. No more vibes.

What kind of pss sound? You'll here an air leak type sound at mid throttle when the throttle body is only part way open.....this makes a sound identical to an air leak.

Hope that helps my bostonian friend!

yes it helps.. lol thanks alot... I'm hoping to make vids of the sound I'm trying to explain but I don't think it's air leak anymore it's probably normal behavior of the intake. Love the sound at full throttle though

Hey BLU BY U my filter isn't actually touching the master cylinder

I was thinking about removing the clamp hold the radiator hose to the radiator and turning it alittle but just to get it off the intake. Looks like it might just work. the only reason i was asking is because it might make the intake alittle hotter u know?...or we can just go get another design with a different bend now that we have some more room now.

That sound is normal and my fujita does the same thing. With that filter under that overhang and facing the firewall like it does you will here all sorts of stuff that you didn't before.

Mine is touching the Master too. I ended up sticking some foam pads in between the filter and master. My setup was a pain to get straight, the rubber elbow doesnt fit correctly. So I finally forced it to fit.

Its backwards compared to the pictures in the instructions.

The injen on the elbow won't face out of the engine bay. Its the easiest way to tackle this problem.

It didn't work flipping it. One end is larger than the other. What a pain in the arss geting it on without pinching the elbow. Its on now with a slight pinch. My first problem was the rubber vibbramount broke. They sell them on injenonline
