Tint options: Queston...

There are two tint places I've been referred to here in north/central CT:

The first is from the Honda dealer where I bought my car (less than a reference, and more of a "it's the only place I know of, they say). That's a place called "Mr. Tint" where it's $125 (+ tax) for my sedan, with a one year warrenty, and they want the car for 2 hours.
<edit> This place says the tints will hold up for 8 years.

The second is a place referred to me by a local Acura dealer. It's a body shop, with a guy who alos does tints as a side business from the same address. It's called "Care Care." They want $189 (+ tax). Three year warrenty, and they want the car all day.
<edit> This place says the tints will hold up for 10 years, no problem.

This is all I have to work with right now, as I've never had a car tinted.

Knowing what I know (above), do you have a feeling either way?

Why is one only 2 hours, and the other all day? Does the longer one indicate a better job, or is it the guy just wants to do it whenever he gets to it during the full day? If it takes 2 hours, then should I go with least expensive? Seems to me that a 1 or a 3 year warrenty is not that significant, given the cost.

Both are typical film type applications, so it's basically the same type of job.

Thanks,
-Glenn

I got mine done for $199. 20% on all windows and 6" strip on the windshield. Lifetime warranty.

Breakdown:

For 20%
Tint job- $159 with 3 year warranty
6" stip- $20
Lifetime Warranty $20

If I had 35% done it would've been $20 cheaper.

If I were you, I'd find someone that offers lifetime warranty. If nothing else, that $20 extra will help the re-sale value of the car since the warranty goes along with the car and not the owner in most shops. Keep the receipt!

The Mr. Tint website says they offer 3M tinting with a lifetime warrenty, for $150.
The guy did not mention that. I'll have to call him back tomorrow and ask.
Sheesh.

Most places offer lifetime warranty... I would look for those first before anywhere else.

I was wondering if you wanted to remove tints on a car how much that would cost?

sedan; i got 5% all around for $150 and 30% on the front winshield and a sun-strip at the top.
if the value of a warranty doesnt mean anything to you (which really isnt that smart) than why would you even ask which is better. one is cheaper a quicker the other is more exspensive and takes longer.
and your right the guy probaly wants it all day for he can just do it whneever he has time.
if i could offer some advice go with the three year warranty and if you want to search more look for some local forums thats may be able to help you more and let you know where there is a more repuitable place.
goodluck. and get it tinted!!!
